(This song is called "Zombie" by The Cranberries. You can hear the original song, but I choose Albert Vishi where is changes the voice and the music. While you read and play the music think of Diego what his mind is doing to him. Play the music when you reached there as you read. I hope you enjoy the music.)
I woke up early and saw Diego already awake, staring outside the cave, still upset about yesterday.
"Hey, Diego!" I said, yawning as I approached him. "Going for a hunt anytime soon?"
"Nah, I'm not hunting today."
I laughed, thinking of something funny to say. "I see, you're on a diet!"
Diego only turned to me with a little smile, before he continued looking outside.
"Listen, D. I know you're still hurting from what just happened last night, but if you don't hunt, you won't have the energy to move around."
Diego sulked to the floor. "I still don't want to hunt."
"Look at you! You're one hunk of a saber! You're gonna have lady sabers dying for you, mate. But you gotta keep up the look. You'll have someone in your life that will make you happy, trust me, but it needs patience."
Diego got up, sighing, "alright, let's go."
Diego and I went hunting in the woods to find something to eat. Diego used his natural instincts, and I had my bow and arrow out to hunt. When we spotted a gazelle, I thought Diego got in position to pounce, but instead he laid down on the ground, crying.
"I can't do this, Alex. It reminds me how Shira and I used to go hunting together."
"Like I said, you must have a hold on your emotions. If not, you will never go anywhere in life."
"Okay, I'll try."
3rd POV
Diego got back in position to chase the gazelle, but his mind was fighting his emotions. He pounced on the gazelle and started chasing. Diego was chasing the gazelle as fast as he could to catch it. Diego gave chase, but the gazelle jumped over a large rock. The dust behind the gazelle was flying in Diego's face, slowing him down. Diego was easily getting tired, less encouraged by the fact that there was no one to take the prey back home to. As Diego got lost in his thoughts, he tripped on the ground, tears in his eyes.
I saw Shira pounce on her gazelle so well, that it scared off my prey. As I ran after my deer, I turned to see Shira running alongside me, both of us running as fast as we could to bring the gazelle down. I saw Shira jump on a rock as she tracked down the gazelle I was still running after. The gazelle was throwing dirt at my face, but I didn't slow me down, because Shira was on my side. As I was chasing the gazelle, I was getting tired, but I heard Shira cheer me on.
"Come on Diego you can do this!"
I felt more energy than I'd ever felt in my life and I continued chasing my prey. As I got close to catching the gazelle, I heard Shira trip on the ground. I forgot the deer and quickly went back to check on Shira.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine, go ahead. Get the gazelle before it's gone."
"Okay." I continued chasing the gazelle while Shira stayed behind.
As I was chasing the gazelle, I was thinking about Shira. Because when I think about her, I feel more energy inside me. Shira jumped at the gazelle and I helped her bring it down. We two happily ate together.
"It was worth hunting this gazelle, Diego."
"Definitely, Shira."
Shira looked at me and smiled. It was the best hunt I ever had, with Shira on my side.
Diego shook his head clear, trying to focus on the present hunt, but his mind kept going back to Shira. Diego leapt at the gazelle, but then fell hard on the ground as the gazelle slipped away. That finally made the saber break down, and he started crying.
As the gazelle was running away, Alex shot an arrow and killed it, then dragged the gazelle back to Diego.
1st pov
"Thank you, Alex." Diego said to me as I brought him the prey.
"You're welcome, my friend. I know it's not easy when memories come back."
"Yeah, but how am I going to be happy again?"
"We'll work something out. Diego, you gotta eat the deer since you put all the effort into it."
"Alright, thanks."
I watched Diego eat his meal.
Man, I wish there is something I can do to make Diego happy.
After he had his meal, we went back to meet the herd.
"Where were you guys?" Sid met us first, "we were about to go search for you guys."
"Alex and I went hunting together," Diego told him.
"Oh, okay." Manny said as he caught up.
Just when we were about to have a conversation with the herd, Shira came out of nowhere.
"Hey, everybody!" She greeted us all cheerfully.
"Hey, Shira." The herd replied.
I looked at Diego as he faced the direction away from Shira.
"I want to present someone special to you guys today."
This time, Diego looked at Shira, and then he looked to me as we both remembered who it was.
Hey everybody! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. The question is what do you think the herd would react when they see another saber? What Diego and Alex are going to do this time? Will Diego be able to win Shira's heart? Tell me in the comments down below. See you all next time! Don't give up cheetah! If you haven't noticed I had change some things on the chapter.
