CHAPTER 21

Days, weeks, and months have passed since the incident. Jaemin was doing so much better and felt like his life was slowly coming together again.
He somehow managed to get a job at as a waiter at a cafe as his part time job.
The people around him that helped Jaemin got him enrolled in a school for his future. He knew basic Korean, which hs much more than he expected. At this point he was even almost fluent in such a short amount of time. Jaemin was a fast learner, but he had no idea he was this fast. It was such a struggle for Jaemin at first, and it still is, but he manages it. He decided to live in Korea for the rest of his life, since there was no point in living in Japan and restart a new life there. Japan was still being rebuilt, slowly but surely, mostly cleaning up the land though.
Jeno and Jaemin became great friends over the past few months. Jaemin got himself a decent phone from working, and also from the help of Jeno. They contacted each other everyday, but Jaemin still lives in the apartment built for the survivors, so they didn't visit each other too often. Both of them miss each other quite often actually. It was almost like they couldn't live without each other. That's how close they became in a short amount of time. They would even flirt with each other like the bro's they were.
But what neither of them knew was that they were slowly falling in love with each other. There were just so many signs.

1. They always miss each other

2. They flirt

3. Both needy for each other's attention

4. They're very playful towards each other

5. They made sure to hang out as much as they could

6. One or the other stares while one is not looking (I hope that makes sense to y'all 😂)

7. They held each other's hands sometimes

8. They always, and when I say always, I MEAN always, playfully get mad at each other

And so on.

Today was Friday, and sometimes if Jeno is lucky, he'll get a day off. It so happens that he was lucky.
The very first thing he did was call Jaemin.

"H-Hello? What is it, Jeno?"

"Hey, Jaemin. I'm free today! Would you like to hang out?"

"Oh really? Sorry, I have work today at 12 PM to 6 PM.."

"Man! Really??" Jeno scratched his head and looked at the clock. It was 11:38 AM, "You don't usually have work on Fridays though.."

"Yes I'm sorry. My boss called me and said it was extra busy and he needed as much help as he could."

"Oooh... it's all good! I'll just come visit you during your shift." He chuckled

"What! Jenoooo!~ You're going to distract me the whole time and I'm going to get fired! You've already got me scolded by my boss twice!!!"

"Oh, that's nothing! That means we will have more time for us to spend together."

"That's not good!! I have to make money to provide shit for myself."

"Ehhh, I'm coming anyways. I'll see you at 12:30!"

"JEN-"

Jeno hung up before Jaemin could yell even more him. He laughed evilly and started getting ready.
He wore a striped button up with black jeans and tucked in half the shirt into his pants.

He made sure his hair looked absolutely PERFECT and put make up on which took 30 minutes.
It was about 12 by the time he finished. He gathered his belongings and drove to a nearby fast food place to get a sandwich and a medium sized drink.
He got to the cafe 5 minutes early and walked in.
The cafe was in the middle of Seoul, so it was obviously packed.
The place was heavily decorated and luxurious.

Jeno had visited this place quite often, mostly because Jaemin worked there, and he loved the atmosphere. Although it was very busy, the building was filled with small chatter and soothing music.
It was very cozy and the smell of baked goods and coffee was strong.
Jeno was actually highly respected, so a few of the people in the building greeted him as he walked passed to find Jaemin.
He finally spotted Jaemin taking a couple's order.
Jeno approached him after he was finished taking their orders

"Hi Jaemin!" Jeno went in for a hug.

Jaemin pushed Jeno softly and glared at him, "You have 1 minute to leave or i'm never talking to you again!"

"Oh come on, we both know you can't live without me, your best friend." Jeno smirked.

"Well- Okay you're right," Jaemin said and Jeno laughed, "but still! Please leave."

"I prrommissseee that i won't bother you, please let me stayyy Nana!"

"Ew! What the fuck is 'Nana'!?"

"A nickname I just thought of .2 seconds ago." Jeno proudly said.

"Okay fine! Stay! Do whatever! Just DON'T bother me."

"JENO!! UGGHH" Jaemin groaned.

"What!?" Jeno asked as if he didn't 'do anything'.

"Stop following me!" Jaemin faked cried as he gave a group of people their drinks and food.

"Looks like he really likes you!" One of them said and the others agreed.

"I know that." Jaemin playfully rolled his eyes and chuckled.

"I don't like him, I love him!" Jeno acted like a child.

"Oh my gosh this is so embarrasing." Jaemin said and his face was bright red.

"Is he your boyfriend?"

"Oh no no no! He's my best frie-"

"Yes." Jeno smiles innocently.

"Jeno!! You are not!!-" Jaemin started attacking Jeno as he quickly ran away.
