"Wake up Girls!" Mrs.White yells. "Uhhh it's 4 am" Sara whines. Great. Not only do I have the biggest track meet if my life today but I have to ride in a car with whiny Sara. "Coming!" I yell back. Good thing I got ready early. Waiting for Sara to get out the shower is like waiting for pigs to start flying. I'm so glad Mrs. White didn't cook breakfast. "I made you guys protein shakes." Mr.White says. " Thanks. Mr.W!" I say excitedly. Finally some real food. Well, Drink. Still better than anything Mrs.White would've made. "Hurry Up Sara!" Mrs.White yells from the kitchen. " I'll go get her," I say. As I walk upstairs I see Sara actually getting ready. "What's the occasion?" I ask. "Ethan and Zion are coming!" She said with the biggest smile. "Zion said he wanted to see you run." She said suggestively. Even better. Not only do I have to race the fastest people in the country but people from West High. "I'm good. They all think I'm stuck up." I said. "Not Zion!" She exclaimed. I roll my eyes. "I need to focus on track. Tell him not to come." I said annoyed. I walk out of the room to avoid further conversation. "we will be in the car!" Mr. and Mrs.White yell. "Race ya!" Rylie said running down the stairs. "Not fair!" I yell running behind her. When we get to the car we all pile in the back. "Yay. 2-hour car ride at 5 am." Rylie said sarcastically. "Why should I come anyway. I don't run track." she said pouting. "You have proven yourself unable to stay home alone." Mrs.White said. I guess that's what she gets for throwing a party. Good thing I'm tired. If I have to listen to one more minute of this I might gauge my eyes out. "Wake up! We're Here!" Sara said. "I'm up!" I said as I got out the car. "we're gonna go to the stands," Mr.White said. "Okay,we're gonna go check in" I said. "Are you ready?" Sara said running towards the check-in booth. "I guess," I said following behind. "I forgot my spikes ill be right back" I yell. How could I forget something so important? Maybe the nerves I guess. As I come closer to the car "Hey," The woman said. "Were hosting an anti-police protest later. You should come through" she said. "Oh, I'm running I can't," I say as I grab my spikes and walk away. Now I'm late! I run to get my number and go with my heat. Pow Pow. Great, I'm next. I step up to my lane and set my blocks up. On your mark, Get set, Pow Pow. I'm off. The girls are ahead of me. I run faster. The race is over. I wait for the announcer. Third place Kathy King. Second place by half a second La'trace Roberts. The first place winner is Kiara Taylor. If your name was not called you didn't qualify. Congratulations to all the winners. "I won?" I ask. "I won! I won!" I say elated.
