I opened my eyes to the morning sun. I climbed out of my bed and walked into my kitchen to grab a cup of coffee, It was 8:38am.
My phone rang, it was Adam.
"Good morning sweet pea" I say smiling.
"Yea I'll be there in 15" I say before hanging up.
When I got to my closet I opened the doors and picked out my clothes for the day. I picked out a yellow shirt, black leggings, black underwear, and a yellow bra. I picked up my white Apple Watch from my dresser, and grabbed a silver choker, and a silver bracelet.

When I finished getting ready I checked the time. It was 9:47, so I grabbed my black sunglasses from my hall closet and put them on my head. I slipped on my white vans and headed out the door.
I met up with the rest of intelligence at a crime scene. There were police cars everywhere, I guessed it was pretty bad.
When Adam saw me I nodded, saying hello. I walked up beside him and he put his arm around my waist.
"What do we got?" I ask.
"27 year old female, found dead by her neighbours this morning around 7am." Voight explained.
"Any idea what happened?" I ask once more.
"Bite marks on her neck indicate some sort of animal bite, most likely a dog. She has scars on her wrists and legs, most likely from past self harm" Kim explained. I kneeled down to take a closer look. I noticed a few small burns on her chest, putting on a pair of gloves I peeled back her shirt.
I looked at Adam.
"Abuse? Maybe murder" I say.
"What makes you think that?" Voight asked, now facing me.
"Well she has severe burn marks on her chest area, you don't get those kind of marks from a frying pan. She has self harm scars, maybe she was abused by an ex partner"
"Okay, but how do the bite marks tie in?" Adam asked.
"I don't know" I sighed.
"It's a good start. Let's get her to med, run some tests, see if we can determine a cause of death" Voight said.
Adam came up beside me as everyone went back to their cars.
"When are we telling Voight?" He asked.
"After we tell Kelly" I answer, he nodded. ————— When we arrived back to the station we began searching for anything on our Jane doe. After about 20 minutes of looking the phone rang, Jay answered it.
"Victims name is Ainsley Taiwan, American Citizen her entire life" Jay said when he hung up. I looked at the time.
"Hey boss, me and Adam can go to med, get the results. I have to go check on Gallo anyway" I say.
"Alright, you can take Ruzek. Call me if anything happens" he replied, I nodded. We headed out of the station and into Adam's car. The drive to med was silent, he looked at me a few times before speaking.
"You alright?" He asked.
"Yea" I replied.
"Well you don't seem-"
"I am perfectly fine Adam! So stop asking!" I shouted.
"Okay" he said before looking back at the road.
"I'm sorry. It's these damn hormones from the pregnancy making me like this" I say.
"I knew that" he replied.
When we arrived at med, we got out of the car and walked inside.
"You go get the results, I got to check on Gallo" I say. We went our separate ways, I knocked on the glass door.
"Hey Kat" Casey says. He was sitting beside the bed holding Gallo's hand.
"Still out?" I ask before sitting next to Casey.
"Yea. Dr Halstead said he's improving a bit, but it'll still be a few days before he wakes up" Casey explained.
"He'll be alright Casey, he's a fighter" I said, Casey nodded.
"Call me if anything changes" I say before meeting up with Adam.
Once both of us returned to the station Voight came out of his office.
"The bite marks belong to a dog, the burns indicate that she was being abused. The scars showed that she's been self harming for over two years now" Adam explained.
"So it's most likely murder like Kat said" Jay replied.
"She has a boyfriend, his name is Kodi Jamison" Adam said.
"Address?" Voight asked.
"A couple blocks away" Adam replied.
"Alright, head over and see what you can get out of him" Voight said.
"Oh my god.." Vanessa said, everyone looked at her.
"She was 16 weeks pregnant"
"If Kodi killed her, he's going down" Voight said. Adam walked out of the station, I watched him drive off.
