COLD nights weren't so bad until the bad weather would appear then of sudden as a blink of an eye. Adam was lying on the couch of his rented flat while looking tiredly at the screen from his laptop. He was feeling tired and quite suffocated, although he didn't show it off at any moment.

His back was peacefully rested on the back of the sofa, and he was trying his best to stay busy, so, Aubrey wouldn't bother him at any moment. But little did he knew, that wasn't going to be enough of an excuse for her.

"So, are you going to tell me what's going on?" She entered into the living room. She was having her light thin eyebrows frowned meanwhile she was having her forearms crossed with each other.Adam didn't even raise his head to look at her into the face, he just kept his eyesight on the bright screen.

"Taxes." He answered, his voice sounding raspy while clicking on the mouse a couple of times. He didn't even raise his hand not once to look at her. And that made her to clench her jaw feeling a bit irritated.

"Sure you are." She gasped lowly with both her hands placed on her waist inpatient.

Tiredly, she approached to where he was sitting on and she grabbed the computer from his lap, now closing it.
Adam didn't react well. His reaction was speechless but he didn't complain until she marked her piecing blue eyes on his own.

"What I've done now?" He moaned while raising his hands. Aubrey just blinked a few times to then sigh.

"You came back from training five hours ago, and you didn't stop working!" She continued while giving him back the now, closed computer.

"Can we please go out or something, or we can just watch a film...? I've been missing you the whole day..." She told while sitting next to him.
Adam after a while of thinking he just got closer to her, he placed his right hand on her left cheek and he kissed her on the lips smoothly.

"I'd love to but I really want to finish this and I also need to revise some of my emails as well." He continued making her sigh.

"We do the same kind of work... I even do more than this. And I don't know how but you're always busy when I want to be with you." Aubrey gasped while crossing her arms. He then, looked at her confused yet Adam couldn't help but feeling quite uncomfortable. He wanted to be on his own, and thinking why the hell he was feeling so badly and empty when Daisy admitted that she was about to get married.

"What do you exactly mean?" He gave her the look from the bottom to the top, trying to figure out by himself why she was acting so rudely.

"You know what I exactly mean." Aubrey let it out a sarcastic guffaw while placing her long blonde hair on a high ponytail. She was getting nervous and so was he. Adam wasn't having any idea of how to react at the moment. She was about to walk away, but she stopped on her feet to then turn her body around rapidly to face him, now he being standing up a few meters away from her.

"You've been avoiding me lately Adam." She affirmed and Adam stared at her in a mix of exhaustion and tiredness.

"That's not true." He gasped surely, placing both his hands on his hip. Aubrey noticing how concerned he was looking, she couldn't help but feeling idiotic.

"Really?" She snapped angrily.

"You've been ignoring me around the house. Every time we have dinner you don't wanna talk about anything. Ever since you started filming again, I'm invisible. Have I done anything wrong?" Aubrey told in a mix of confusion and sorrow. He just decided to stare at her once again, now his face expression even more soothing than before.

"Babe I don't understand! We were good. How the hell this happened?... Have you cheated on me?" She gasped making him to gasp immediately, the sudden view of his dearest friend coming to his mind.

"What?" Adam mumbled.
She was having her cheeks and kind of her neck tinted in an intense colour of red. That used to happen to her just because of her nerves. She was facing at him ¡, expression being completely serious although her eyes were looking hurt and swollen.

"...Have you?" Aubrey muttered, her voice breaking while embracing herself. Adam just sighed while standing up from the couch. He walked towards her direction, so he could be face to face with her. He walked those few steps that were separating them and Aubrey looked at him and he just tried to hold her hands.

"...No." He told honestly, making her to swallow hard.

"So, why are you acting like this?" She told sadly. Adam was now feeling ashamed on the spite of the fact that he did lie to her face once again and it did made him feel bad for her, because he was aware of how much she loved him.

"I just... -I don't know." He confessed looking down and then up to her.

"... I've been so stressed out these past few weeks. And I guess I wanted to be on my own and think on my own stuff without involving you. I'm sorry." Adam continued ashamedly. Whereas, Aubrey, just looked at how he did react at her. Sighing, she released her hands from his, leaving him feeling quite confused and exasperated.

"You should've told me before that you needed some space to yourself. I've been really worried. And for a moment I thought..." Aubrey said concerned in her eyes.

"I would never cheat on you and you know that." Adam told abruptly and she just nodded with her head lowered.

"I just didn't know what to think. That's why I though about the worst think. I'm sorry." She apologised now raising her chin to gazed at him one more time. Adam feeling badly, raised both his hands and he coped her face with them, to the pressing a soft peck on her lips. She corresponded him, kissing him back.
