Chapter 2: Pixelated Wasteland

Army woke up dazed and confused. All he could recall was a bright flash and all going dark. He hobbled along, his leg red with blood. Scared, he looked around the area.
"This isn't inkopolis," he mumbled. Looking around frightened him more, "WHAT IS THIS!!! WHY IS EVERYTHING-" he touched the grass and it blew away in little square bits "pixeled..."

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps could be heard. 8-bit footsteps.
"WHOSE THERE!!!" Army shouted brandishing his N-Zap.
"Whoa, Cool it trigger haaaaaapy!"
"Oh, Mask... thank Cod it's only you... what happened? Where are we?"
"A city in NESLAND"
"WHERE!?!"
"RetroVile!"
"How do you know that?"
"The 8-bit pixelation..."
"Oh"

Mask looked around, "I can get used to this"
"Geek," Army scoffed.
"HEY! IT'S NOOOOOT MY FAULT EMPEROR GOT POSSESSED BY A LIGHT DEMON AND YOU JOINED ME IN MYYYYY PERSONAL HEAVEN!!!"
"If it's your personal heaven.... there's a reason why I'm here"
Mask thought about it for a bit, then glanced at Army's gun, "THAAAATS IT!!!!"
"what's it?"
"YOUR N-ZAP '85!!"
"What about it?"
"IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A RETRO NES ZAPPER!!! IT WAS DESIGNED TO LOOK LIKE IT!!!!"
"In none nerd terms?"
"IT IS THE REASON WHY YOU ARE HERE!!!! ITS OUR WAY OUT!!!!"

8-bit grass rustles. An 8-bit laugh and quack are heard.
"AAAAH!!! WHAT IS THAT!!!!" Army hides behind Mask, "IS IT A MONSTER!!!"
Mask gets closer and is attacked by a dog and duck, "GAH, WHAT THE HEEEEELL!!!"
The dog growls at Mask and the duck pecks at him.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!" Army shouts pointing his N-Zap, "OR I WILL SHOOT!!"
The dog and the duck look up. Upon seeing the N-Zap they obey. Dog pants wagging his tail happy, "RUFF RUFF!" Army was confused. The duck flies over and landed on his shoulder.
"They think you're their master," Mask wheezed.
"Who are they?" Army asked.
"The Dog and Duck from Duck Hunt, where your guns design came from"
Army pets the dog and scritches the duck, "You wanna help me and my friend get out of here and save our friends form what ever made that blast that send us here?"
Dog and Duck, bark and quack in agreement.
"Alright! You know, I'm starting to think that this is the beginning of an amazing relationship."
"Dooooon't tempt me into dropping the axe on the bridge in the castle while you're on it"
Army laughed, "As Goggles said things are fun when you don't know what will happen next."
