Bang, bang. I woke up the next morning to the sound of the front door knocking and next doors dog barking horrendously. I sneakily creped down the stairs while my mum greeted the people in. It was the police. Why was the police here? Did my brother do something?

I eavesdropped on the unsettling conversation my mum was having to the policemen as thoughts wondered through my head to why they were actually here.

"Do you know anything about a girl called Ivy Carson?" One of the officers said with a stern face.

I gasped which made the officers notice that I was sitting there listening to their private conversation. My heart dropped thinking that Ivy might of accused me of something I didn't do.

As I walked slowly down the stairs one of them looked at me right in the eyes and asked "do you know anything about this young lady Ivy?"

Were I responded with "I don't know much about here, all I know is that she's the most popular girl at school. She's in a couple of my classes and what I hear she can be mean to her classmates"

"Classmates meaning you" the men asked while towering over me.

"No, no, she never talked to me. I'm to lame for her" I said jokingly.

I was to scared to tell the truth about knowing her and how she bullies me everyday. So I lied hoping i didn't get in to any trouble.

My mum placed her scrawny arms over my shoulder. She seemed just as frightened and confused as I was. The police officers proceeded to talk.

"Don't worry your not in any trouble at the moment" one of them said, not making me feel any better than i previously was.

"So what is this about" my mum said. You can tell she was getting impatient and the officers noticed it too.

"15 year old, Ivy Carson died last night after school. She seemed very healthy so we don't know how this possibly could of happened. We presume it's a murder so we have to question every student who is in her year at school. Many students mentioned you, Kady. So that's why we are here."

She's died? I thought, remembering the last thing I said before passing out on my bed and waking up to this.

I gulped before speaking once more
"like I said, I don't know anything about her."

My mum pulled me away, sending me back up stairs ordering me to get ready for school. "Let the grown ups speak, Kady." She said.

I huffed and plodded upstairs still trying to listen to their conversation. There was no luck, they were speaking too quiet. I just couldn't believe the complete shock of the news I received as I got changed into a clean pair of clothes.
