Chapter 48: Disgust

Lisa Pov

"Jieun, I'm going insane thinking of how am I going to protect you whenever you jump into those instances willingly!?"

She bit her lip, looking guiltily at me after I said it.

Then she reached for my hand, and slowly she pulled me closer to her. And snake her arms around my waist, giving me a warm tight hug. While patting my back gently, trying to calm me.

"I'm sorry if I'm like this.", she mumbled after she buries her head on my chest sweetly. And it fucking softens my heart. I return her hug with the same tightness, wrapping my arms around her shoulder immediately.

I sighed, finally I could breathe normally.

"Why are you apologizing? Don't apologize, it's who you are, you are such a brave girl, and I love that from you. It's just that, I'm too weak and afraid of losing you"

I muttered, and squeezed her body close to me, savoring her affection.

"You won't lose me. I'm sorry for making you worry Lisa."

She replied, and put a little distance from me so she could look into my eyes, whilst clutching at my waist.

"I'll be more careful. Trust me, I won't let anything bad happen to me."

She said without wavering, I know I could trust her. But I'm still wondering why was she tailing Seunghoon out of all people. Is my alpha team doing nasty things behind my back?

I smile at her despite the question running in my head, I didn't want us to stay at this place any longer, so I grabbed her hand and intertwine it with mine before I initiate to continue walking.

"I trust you, you're my sunbaenim, so I believe you're much stronger than those man you're following. But I'm your partner so you shouldn't go chasing bad people without me."

I answered her, as we slowly walk at the side, leading to a much busy place.

"Lisa, actually. I wasn't chasing robbers, gangsters or any culprits that you might be thinking that I do. I'm not even sure who are those people. But I saw them years ago."

She mumbled, that made my heart almost stop beating. My eyes grew wide with surprise. We both stop with our pace and turn facing each other again.

"You've seen them before? Where?"

Jieun's lips pursed. And she seems hesitant about telling me.

But I gave her a light squeeze on her hand, encouraging her to continue. She looks away first before she utters "On the day of my father's funeral."
