Chapter Fourteen

Blink and I saunter down the street as a woman approaches us.
"Who's that?" Blink asks
I shrug.
When she gets closer, I notice something.
She has dark brown hair and blue eyes.
Like me.
Just like me.
"Brooklyn?" She asks
It takes me a moment before I recognize her.
"Mom!!" I cry and run towards her
Blink follows
She hugs me and strokes my hair like she used to do when I was little
"Oh, Brooklyn. I've missed you."
"Where have you been?!" Light tears fall down my face
"I'll explain it later. Where's Jack and Abigail?" I wipe my tears
"P-probably at their posts" I stutter
"Why don't you go find them. I'll meet you back here."
"Okay."
Blink takes me by the hand and we rush off.
It isn't long before we see Abi.
"Brooklyn? What's wrong?" She runs towards me
"It's Mom." I say
She gasps
"She's alive?!"
I nod.
Spot shows up with Jack.
"Brooklyn? Why are you crying?" Jack asks, concerned
"Moms back." Abi answers for me
He looks astounded
"S-she is?!"
Abi and I both nod.
Spot rushes to Abi and kisses her cheek.
"Does this mean you're leaving?" He asks
"I- I don't know.." She replies
I turn to face Blink and he looks me in the eye.
"You can leave if you want." He says
"But I'm not leavin' you." I reply
He smiles
"You don't have to."
He pulls me in for a kiss and hugs me.
Spot does the same to Abi.
All of us walk to where we left Mom.
She smiles as she sees Jack and Abi and hugs them both.
"Mom where have you been?" Abi asks
"I've been down west. In Santa Fe. I came back when I read the papers about the strike. It took me this long to find you."
Blink squeezes my hand tightly.
"You've been in Santa Fe?" Jack repeats
She nods.
"Now I have to ask you something. All three of you."
Abi looks at me and I nod.
"What is it?" Jack asks
"Do you guys want to come live me in Santa Fe?"
