Sometimes, you enjoyed cooking. And by sometimes, that means when you have nothing else to do. Today was one of those days. Dustin had been out working at The Foundry all day, also known as The Nerd Bar, per your vocabulary. This resulted in you and Ernie being left alone all day. Around 6, Dustin finally walked in the house.
"Hey! I'm home!" He called, only to receive no sounds of feet or paws coming to greet him. He threw his coat on the couch and walked towards the kitchen, finding you pulling something out of the oven, Ernie patiently watching you.
"Oh, hey," you greeted your boyfriend as you turned around. "Welcome home!" On the tray sat little cookies, a banana-like fragrance coming off of them.
"What are you up to, honey?" Dustin asked, walking over to see more cookies of a similar shape on the counter.
"Oh, just some baking," you answered, setting the tray down. Dustin reached his hand to the cookies, taking one off of another tray that was cooled. "Baby, don't eat that," you told him.
"No," he teased, biting into the cookie with a joking smile on his face.
"Dustin, these aren't for you," you told him. "They're homemade dog treats for Ernie." Dustin's face went slack, going to the trash can to spit it out and wash out his mouth.
"You made treats for the dog and none for us?" he asked, going to the sink.
"Well, I read an article about how some dog food brands are bad for dogs and I just got the idea to make my own dog treats for Ernie. They're banana and flax seed! They're good for him!" you explained, grabbing one and giving it to the Frenchie. Ernie gobbled the great up gratefully.
Dustin couldn't help but smile at how much you cared for his dog. It was sweet that you made homemade treats that you knew were good for the pup because you didn't want him eating something bad.
"That's really sweet of you, y/n," Dustin cooed. He walked over and wrapped his arms around you. "Thank you. I'm sure Ernie would thank you, too. He's so lucky to have such a caring (mommy/daddy) to look out for him." You grinned at your boyfriend's praise.
"Thank you, Dustin," you smiled. "I love you."
"I love you, too, sweetheart. And so does Ernie," the man smiled. You giggled as he hugged you tight and kissed your face.
Later that evening, Dustin was sitting in his office reading his emails when you walked in, something in your hand.
"Hey, Dustin," you called. He turned in his chair, smiling at your presence.
"Hey, sweetheart, what's up?" he asked, excited to see you. You had continued in the kitchen for a bit after you ate dinner together and he went into his office.
"I have something for you," you grinned.
"Yeah? What's that?" You walked forward and handed Dustin a plate, a chocolate chip cookie laying on it.
"A treat for you," you answered, watching his face. His expression broke out into a grin, accepting the plate from you.
"Thank you, baby! You're a treat enough, but I appreciate it." He stood up and kissed you gently. "You're so good to me."
"Don't you forget it, handsome."
"I don't see how I could."
Yo, it's been a hot minute. Been busy. Met the love of my life, been in college, got a big girl job that is in my major. Life has been treating me well.
This book has been getting a lot of attention recently, so I decided to update some more. Doing a lot of it based off of my own little domestic life I've been leading the past several months. Hope you enjoy the adventures of Dustin and y/n that are based off of my actual life.
I love you all, my little hoes.
XO, Jenna

Domestic Bliss (Dustin Bates)
FanfictionPretty much just little blurps of being in a relationship with Dustin Bates. Fluff. A little bit of bad stuff. I blame Taylor for 98% of this book. Enjoy, my little hoes.
