Roo POV
I breathed heavily as I did the let of my sets. Today was my first game of the season, coach made us dress nice and basically forced a dress on me. I heard muffled talking in front of me and I took out one of my ear buds. Who the fuck is it now? I looked up and saw Rose.
"Did you hear me"
"You know its like an unwritten rule to not fuck with niggas during their sets" she rolled her eyes
"I just got a text from Ashanti, coach wants us there ASAP, suggest you get a shower" I groaned and put the weights back
"The fuck does she want? We been practicing too hard for this shit"
"I know Ronelle, I'll get your dress and come back" I stood up and hugged her
"Thanks Rose" she hugged me back
"Your sweat actually don't smell that bad, you smell like cocoa butter" I chuckled and pulled away
"Thank you?" She smiled as I went down to the showers and took off my shirt at the lockers
I put my dirty clothes in my gym bag and wrapped a towel around me, grabbing my phone as I made my way to the showers. I heard girls giggle and whisper as I walked past, I know I'm cute but damn can y'all relax. This get so old so quick.
"Good luck tonight Roo" I didn't even spare whoever it was a glance
"Thanks"
I got in the shower, closing the curtain and hanging my towel on the bar. I turned on the water and sighed in relief as the warm water hit my chest. I haven't heard from Tae since this morning, wonder what she was up to. My phone vibrated an I looked at it, Zy wanted to FaceTime. I groaned and answered, holding it to where she could only see my face.
"Are you in the shower"
"Nah im at the water park, what do you want Zy" she rolled her eyes
"What time is your game?"
"You couldn't text me that?"
"I wanted to see your big ass head bitch,answer the question" I sighed
"6 this afternoon, is that it"
"No I don't know why you in such a rush, I just wanna show you some love"
"Zyra, I'm in the shower you can show me love any other time"
"Girl don't act like I ain't seen every inch of your body, I want no parts" I chuckled
"You saying my body ain't cute?" She shrugged
"Its aight but I'll let you go,love you Roo Roo"
"Love you too babygirl" she hung up and I checked the time, fuck.
I quickly was her myself and rinsed before turning the water off. I reached for my towel and it was gone, you gotta be fucking kidding. I looked to see if it fell on the floor and it wasn't there either, dammit I don't have the time for this. There's towels right across here, there's no one around, I could just get one. I stepped out and walked quickly to the towels, wrapping one around me immediately. Bitches are so fucking childish.
I walked back to the lockers and put in my bra and boxers before putting on my deodorant and my lotion. Rose walked up to me and put the dress beside me.
"Took you long enough" I sucked my teeth
"Not my fault, tell your girl to learn how to text" she looked confused for a second
"She's not my girl" I put on the dress
"Then why she come to mind?" She started to say something but she didn't "Mhm exactly"
"We're just talking"
The dress was all black and strapless. Kinda tight actually, what size did she get me a 0? I put on my socks and then my Adidas before standing. I closed my locker and picked up my bag.
"What you think? Hat or no hat?" She looked at my hair
"Hat" I put it on and Rose smiled "You look good in a dress"
"Should've seen me at prom"

"Damn Roo, you looking thick" I rolled my eyes
"Can all of you please not sexually assault me?"
"You getting some now and before the game, what you thought this was" I huffed
"I have a girlfriend" She shrugged
"We just trying to get you comfortable like the rest of us"
"Alright girls, have a seat in the bleachers for me" we did as she said and I sat between Rose and Ashanti
"You think we in trouble?" I shook my head
"Nah we ain't done shit"
"So why I called you here right now is to tell you ladies that I'm really proud of you all, you have all been devoted to this team even when it wasn't basketball season" Ashanti huffed
"Coach just tell us the bad news"she sighed
"This is my last day, I've had to resign from coaching"
"What? why?"
"Personal reasons but this shouldn't distract you from the game, if anything play this game the best for me. Get to class and I'll see you all at the game"

Tae POV
Its the second quarter, almost halftime. I was nervous and reconsidering my timing but this was already planned and I couldn't call it off this last minute. I heard the buzzer go off and my heart sank, I took a deep breath and looked out. Just as planned the girls were keeping Roo on the court as she looked confused.

I walked out to her in the middle of the court and she looked at me.
"Hey?"
"Hey"
"Why are you out here" I exhaled
"Ronnie, we've been together for 1 year 9 months and some change"
"So its not our anniversary yet?"
"No its not but the point is we've been together for a while and you make me so happy, you're so effortlessly beautiful onside and out" I got down on one knee as she was still looking hella confused and her teammates circled us
"Are you on some cult shit?" I chuckled
"I wanna spend the rest of my life with you, maybe even after that" I pulled out the ring from my pocket and realization washed over her expression
"Oh shit"
"Ronelle , will you marry me?"
