Welcome to chapter 5! I hope you don't all hate me for the insane cliffhanger I left you on last chapter. I plan to make it up to you with this chapter.

Hope you enjoy!

I crack open my eyelids and the room has returned to normal. No light, no nothing.

I stay curled in a ball and become aware of the tears staining my face. I shift slightly and pain flares across my body.

I whimper involuntarily and hear Bruce move somewhere in the room. He must have heard me because he is at my side in an instant.

"Lily. What's wrong?" He asks. Slightly panicked.

For both of our sakes, I pray that he doesn't hulk out.

I don't even have to look at him to know he's concerned. And I don't blame him. So am I.

"Everything" I say softly.

He places a gentle hand on my back and I flinch violently. Pain sears through my body and I bite my lip viciously to prevent myself from crying out.

I close my eyes and feel as Bruce slides his arms underneath me as gently as he can before lifting me off the floor and carrying me somewhere.

I don't find out where because the edges of my vision creep in and I black out.

-------------------

I wake to the smell of antiseptic. I don't open my eyes straight away though. I sense people around me. I also notice that I'm lying in a bed of sort, covered in a soft blanket.

At first I think it might be my room, but then I remember the antiseptic. Nope. Definitely not my room.

I open my eyes and raise my head. Mum is sitting immediately to my left. Dad, Tony, Steve and Thor are all standing, talking quietly. I notice quickly that Bruce is missing.

Mum notices my eyes are open and places a cool hand against my cheek. I turn my head to the side so I can face her.

"Hi mama" I say. She smiles.

"Hi sweetheart"

The room goes quiet when everyone realizes i'm awake.

Dad slides into view.

"How are you feeling?" he asks. I think, analyzing how my body is feeling.

"OK" I reply. My body isn't nearly as sore as it was before. In fact, the pain has completely vanished. I feel normal.

"What happened?" I ask. "Where's Bruce?"

"Bruce is in his room Lily" Steve answers. "He feels so guilty."

I shake my head and twist around, noticing the IV in my wrist for the first time.

"It wasn't his fault though" I say. "And why do I have an IV"

"The IV is to give you fluids. You've been asleep for almost two days now".

"It wasn't Bruce's fault" I repeat earnestly. "He didn't know what the glowing thing would do".

Tony picks up on my choice of words.

"Glowing thing?" He asks. "And what did it do?"

I think back to the weirdly marked ball.

"There was a small metal ball with weird inscriptions on it. At first I thought it was Asgardian but it most definitely wasn't."
