A Messed Up Dream

Unexpected Visit

Entering my apartment, I put my back to the door, slowly sliding down as I sat on the floor. I had tears in my eyes.

Everything was a mess. I had just had sex with a stranger, embarrassed myself in public- I didn't know how I was supposed to feel if at all.

A knock came from the door as I jumped up, slowly backing away from the door. I was afraid, shaking. Had he followed me home? Would he do that? Who was at the door?

"Ya- Minjae!"

I heard Heeyeon call to me from behind the door as relief washed over my body. Relaxing, I opened the door.

"Hey- I didn't expect to see you"

I said, opening the door as I looked at her, smiling at her cute outfit. Casually strolling into my house, she looked around the entryway and the living room after quickly taking her shoes off.

"Nice place you have here!"

She spoke gleefully as I smiled, still a little shaky and tired before I leaned onto the bookcase separating the living room from the entryway.

"Whose is it?"

"Dad gave it to me. Told me I could use it."

"Must be nice to be rich"

She jumped onto one of the poufs.

"It's so fluffy"

She said, sinking into the cushiony seat. Her lightheartedness was like relief to me after my panic.

"You look awful. And your clothes look... like you've been wearing them for some time. What happened?"

Tears filled my eyes.

"I- I'm a disappointment."

I muttered as she got off of the pouf to come to my side and hug me.

"Don't say that"

Rubbing my back, Heeyeon tried to comfort me.

"I have an idea."

She held my hands, pulling away from me.

"I think we should go shopping together. I think it would be very nice to get something for you- something to get your mind off of whatever happened last night?"

I nodded in agreement with her as Heeyeon smiled.

"It's settled, then, we're going out as soon as you put something comfortable on."
