Her whole body was on fire, every joint aching, her head throbbing and her eyes so heavy she could barely manage to open them. She felt is if literally she had been hit by a truck and her body put through a wood chipper. She wanted to move, to turn over or something to relieve the pain but every fiber of her muscle hurt too much to try so she just whimpered as she lay there.
She knew someone was in the room with her, she could feel his spirit but she wasn’t coherent enough to know who it was. Her visor felt like it weighed a ton on her face and at that moment if she had the strength she would have ripped it off and threw it across the room but since she could not even manage to lift her arms she settled for trying to ask the presence in the room.
“V….vi…so…r.” Her voice was so soft she barely heard herself and then she tried again but it was just as hard. “Vi….sor.”
A voice answered softly. “Hey don’t worry, I’m here. What do you need? Are you in pain?” She felt something rough but warm touch her hand.
“Visor!” She croaked.
“Oh…you mean this…?” She felt a hand slip under her head and lift it gently then just a gently her visor was pulled from her face. It was as if a 20 pound weight was lifted off her head and she breathed a sigh of relief before trying to open her eyes slightly. Luckily the room was not so brightly lit and she could open them a tad.
She gazed at the blurry outline of the Turtle that cradled her head as her vision cleared and she met two brilliant blue eyes.
“Leo….”She said, recognizing him.
“You remembered my name.” He smiled and then his eyes suddenly widened as he gazed down at her. Though her eyes were only half open he could see their unusual color and luster. They were the same color as amethysts. For a minute it didn’t even register that he was now staring at her unmasked face because her eyes were so hypnotizing.
After the initial shock of seeing purple eyes for the first time on a human he studied her features more closely. Her face was square with a strong jaw hinting that she was of mixed blood while nicely trimmed eye brows, a semi sharp nose and small cherry lips. She wasn’t what one would label as conventionally beautiful at least not by modern standards but still she was pretty and had something nostalgic about her. If she had been in a black and white film her face would have been perfect for that time period.
“Blue eyes….” She muttered.
“Huh?” He raised a brow.
“Blue eyes…on a giant turtle…..”She lightly chuckled. “...they are lovely….” Her eyes closed and she fell back asleep.
Leo looked at her puzzled and then gently set her head down and backed away. He rubbed the back of his neck and thought of what a strange woman she was. He was atleast expecting a gasp or scream or something but then again she hadnt even given them that much back at the laboratory. What world did she come from where someone like him and his brothers were the least scary of all the possibilities? Hopefully when she woke up, she would be keen on giving them some answers.
