"Hi, mom," Riley said. "Hi, kiddo. Feeling any better?" her mom said. She didn't say anything. She only felt a little bit better. She described "half-way" or "just a little" with her hand. "Okay, hope you get better, kiddo," her mom said before she left the room. Riley sighed. Her flu had gotten serious.

First, she got strep throat, then the stomach bug, and both of them had just been making her flu worse. She had passed out when it got worse. All it was doing now was thinning out. Very, very slowly.

Something startled Riley. She almost fell out of her cot. The siren had went off. The man over the intercoms said, "Everybody, please stay calm. There has been a chemical spill in the research room of Ralph's Chemicals. Stay inside. DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT go outside. Thank you."

Riley didn't listen. She snuck out of her room. She was then out on the street in a wheelchair. She saw the spill. She felt that she was getting sick, and went back inside to her room.

The doctor came in to give her lunch. She turned on the T.V for Riley. After a while, Riley had fallen asleep. She didn't know that anything unexpected can happen.
