Today was the day that I was finally going on The Voice. The tour with Pierce The Veil and Sleeping With Sirens ended about three months ago and I've been practicing with Lola ever since we skyped; She said she saw all kinds of potential in me and we skyped four times a week after that. When I sang, correction, when Vic and Kellin made me sing at one of their concerts I got a bunch of positive feedback from the crowd and it mad me insanely happy. After over six months of dedicated practice, training and shaping my voice to how it should be both Lola and myself felt I was ready to try out. I know over six months isn't a long time but it's now or never; Or at least that's how I felt. Lola advised me to sing a pop song but I flat out refused for many reasons; I don't know that many pop songs, I don't really like pop and I like doing rock songs so I prefer to stick to what I'm good at.
I had a hard time choosing a song but I definitely wanted it to be personal. There was Cynics & Critics by Icon For Hire but Lola said no because not many people would know that band. After that I came up with Going Under by Evanescence but then I backed out because Amy Lee is an amazing singer and difficult to cover; Lola said I could do it with no doubt in her mind but I didn't want to chance it. So three more ideas later I decided on a song that was close to home and would show off my voice a little; Janie's Got A Gun by Aerosmith. Lola was all aboard with it and she's backstage cheering me on and crossing her fingers. I stepped onto the stage in my usual attire, my style and hair had changed quite a bit since tour ended. It went from half black and half red to wild, crazy and untamable. I stopped straightening my hair and I just let it do whatever. I had also gotten piercings and tattoo's and I was proud of all of them. I closed my eyes to feel the music more than I already was.

"Dum, dum, dum, honey what have you done?
Dum, dum, dum it's the sound of my gun.
Dum, dum, dum, honey what have you done?
Dum, dum, dum it's the soundJanie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun." I sang and Gwen turned around. She clapped and smiled at me which made me smile."Her whole world's come undone
From lookin' straight at the sun
What did her daddy do?
What did he put you through?
They said when Janie was arrested
they found him underneath a train." I sang, smoothly hitting the sudden high note."But man, he had it comin' Now that Janie's got a gun
she ain't never gonna be the same." I said, smoothly holding out the word and bringing my voice higher. It made Adam and Pharrell turn around. I smiled at the success I was having but saved my cheering till the end.
"Janie's got a gun
Janie's got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run."I put my hand on my mouth and jumped up and down a little bit; Giggling and squealing. Everyone but Blake turned around but that's understandable considering he deals with country more than anything and that isn't really the style I'm wanting to go for. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Adam smile and Gwen laugh a little. I made grabby hands at everyone and they smiled.
"So what's your name?" Adam asked and I smiled.
"My name is Scarlett Fae Leaf." I said and giggled. Gwen raised her eyebrows.
"Quite an interesting name there....I like it, it's the name of a star." She said and I smiled.
"Thank you!" I said.
"Well I love your name, she just likes it." Adam said and Gwen rolled her eyes.
"Scarlett, I'm out of the equation here but I think you were great, I loved the style of your voice. I'm going to let these bozo's here fight over you." Blake said and I laughed.
