Make It Easy

Chapter 3

Octavia had entered the throne room after having spoken with Clarke for a bit she made sure to leave to inform Lexa that Clarke had awoken. "Octavia Kom Skaikru." Heda had acknowledge the Skai girl as she had just finished deciding what was to happen to Titus and those who were under him. 

"Heda," Octavia bowed then rose to face Lexa "Clarke has awoken and has asked for you, Heda." 

Lexa rose and looked to the other's dismissing them as she made her way out and was behind Octavia as they were back to Clarke's chambers. Only Octavia stayed outside "Lexa," stopped her before she went in "she's still a bit weak so her mother will have to see her soon once you both are done." Lexa only nodded and continued inside to find Clarke resting back on the pillow "Clarke," she moved to take the chair beside the blonde's bed and kissed her softly as if even that would hurt her "I'm glad you are okay."

"I'm glad you are alive," Clarke smiled and leaned into Lexa as the Commander held her close "how are things? Not to crazy, please tell me that." 

"You will rest. I've dealt with everything already to begin with. I brought your mother to check on you but she will need to check you again just in case and I will have another guard bring you food." Clarke only nodded just wanting to enjoy the serene moment they were having knowing it would not last long because Lexa was going to have to go deal with the Coalliation. "I will be returning to my people," Clarke stood up to look Lexa in the eyes "I will return Lexa as soon as I know that my people will be fine and the next Chancellor will be one that we can trust." 

Lexa nodded knowing it was something that would have to happen "I understand I will go with you but only for a few days since I do still have to make a Clan tour see it as I am starting with your people first." The Command placed a soft kiss to Clarke's forehead before standing and making sure she was laid back onto her pillow as to not hurt the wounded shoulder any further. "I'll have your mother sent for and I will bring Octavia back in do you want for anything?"

"Food and if it's possible," Clarke took a deep breath "sent for Raven so that she can bring a radio back I can show you how to use it before we leave back to Arkadia."

Lexa didn't question  Clarke about Raven but she knew it is important and left Clarke's chambers. "You may go in now, Octavia. I will be sending Abby Kom Skaikru to Clarke's chambers so no one else should be entering unless they have permission from you or Clarke."

Octavia nodded heading back into Clarke's chambers "You can take off your armor and rest, O. I know you've got to be exhausted, you've been up for more than two nights, you can take a rest."

"What if Lexa comes back and I'm sleeping on the job?"

Clarke laughed and shook her head "Nothing, I'd deal with it. Now take a nap I'll wake you up if anything." Octavia wasn't sure about it but she knew she needed some sleep or if something did happen she wouldn't be of much use with the way she was at the moment. Clarke made sure the Octavia fell asleep before anything and she got up to stretch her legs only to make sure she didn't hurt her shoulder. Abby knocked on the door before she entered to find her daughter barely getting back into the bed, she had brought food that Lexa had told her to bring, along with water as well. "Lexa had me bring you food are you okay? You were out for a bit."

"I'm good, Mom." Clarke smiled as Abby brought over the food she sat down beside her in the bed "Where's Lexa?"

"She went to retrieve Raven," Abby stated "she didn't want someone else to retrieve her so she should be back later today." 

Clarke knew that Lexa would be going for Raven after the tension with the clans it was best but she still couldn't help but miss her anyway. "What's on your mind, Clarke?" Her mother asked out of pure concern which at moments were rare because it was either politically about Clarke and where she stood or the Coalition. No, this time it was different. 

"I'm worried."

"For Lexa," Abby knew since the moment she had landed and the bits that she would get from catching the two "I know or from what I see I know how you feel about her." Lately, everything had been about the Coalition, the 13th clans, and Pike everyone had demanded so much of her daughter. Even herself. That she didn't realized that her daughter was not happy, she was surviving, no longer living, but when she was with Lexa she radiated differently. So did Lexa as Abby had noticed much about the both of them, they complimented each other so well, but even Abby wasn't sure how it would work between them. "I want you to think about yourself first Clarke, this thing with Pike, Kane and I can handle, but you I need you to be happy even if it is with her. I started worrying when we landed that you weren't taking care of yourself and it got worse after the war at Mt. Weather then you became Wanheda even with such a harsh nickname you still give. You continue to give, as your mother I'm worried and I think you should step down as Ambassador, as Chancellor or Former Chancellor I would have said continue on as is and get over it. You aren't just anybody to me, you are my child, and I haven't been taking care of you or your happiness I think once we visit Arkadia I want you to go with Lexa to visit the other clans. Not as an ulterior motive. You belong beside her." 

Clarke at this point had tear up and her mother took her into her arms for once she felt at home in her mothers or and not feeling judged at all. "I want to help with this last thing," she said as they pulled back "I can't rest knowing Pike will be in charge." They'd be taking something away from the Arkadians, their people, but Clarke would have Lexa appoint someone in charge of the 13th clan. 

"What do you mean?'

"I mean I'm going to ask Lexa to appoint you and Kane as Chancellors," Clarke stated "no more voting at least for now and the next year we can try to vote someone in as Chancellor."

Abby knew this would cause disruption and chaos but her daughter was right that someone needed to be appointed until things got better if not the 13th clan would be at risk with the rest of the clans.
