chapter 14

juns mood was affected for the rest of his day. he didn't pay attention in class at all, didn't do any of the from school council, and the weather was getting worse and worse with each passing second. what sucked even more was that he had to stay after school and finish the assignments, which meant him missing his bus. which meant that he will have to walk home.

'shit i didn't even bring an umbrella with me. and it's gonna rain. fuck.' his mind is a total mess as he's about to breakdown. good thing that he's almost done with his work and maybe...just maybe if he tried to finish it faster he will be able to get home before it starts raining.

"anddddd.....done!" jun exclaimed in victory as he signed the last document and began to pack all the stuff up. when walking past the window, he noticed a group of people go into the locker rooms.

it was the schools soccer team. 'didn't know they have practices on wednesdays.' he thought 'oh right they have a game this friday so they probably have practice everyday now.' juns attention slowly gets captured by one certain individual on the team. the soccer teams co-captain, lee donghun.

'i hope he won't get sick.' its cold and donghun is only wearing a shirt that's mostly wet due to him sweating, and a pair of soccer shorts with something that looked like leggings underneath. jun never played, or was interested in any sports so he didn't know what the sports clothing was named.

he catches himself spacing off and when he comes back to reality, he realized that donghun was actually looking back at him. smiling and waving his hand. embarrassed, jun quickly hid himself behind a wall. even though it won't help now.

"stupid stupid stupid!" he whispered to himself and started packing up faster now.

"hey donghun who are you smiling at? did you see your friend or something?" donghuns friend asks him.

"i think i did. hey do you know when the student council gets out?"

"umm their meeting aren't that long so i'm guessing they're should have finished about 40 minutes ago. but they do often stay after school to finish some work. President Jun, i'm pretty sure that's his name, often stays after. i caught him watching our practices sometimes. im pretty sure that's the office he always works in." he points to the window where donghun have just seen the younger. a smirk spreads across his face.

"alright. let's go change fast before they close the locker rooms."

jun has finally packed and cleaned everything, ready to leave. he fast paced through the school halls, trying not to look desperate to leave this place. he knew donghun saw him and he didn't want to have to deal with him, even if it was very unlikely. donghun has probably already forgot about him.

as he walked out of the school and was about to pass through the gates, he hears a car honk his way but ignores it. 'probably just someone who can't just mind his own business and needs to get a life.' jun thinks to himself as he turns on his favorite playlist. 'who do you love' by monsta x turns on and he hums to the melody, mumbling the lyrics.

then he hears a car honk again.

and again.

and again.

"what is your problem man?!" junhee says with frustration as he turns around. to his surprise, he sees a car. well, that wasn't the surprising part. the person who was inside of it was.

"wassup kitty. need a ride?" donghun says with a wink.

"not from you, sad eyes." and hun clearly looked offended.

jun laughed at his expression and donghun smiled right after. he liked to listen to the sound of juns laugh.

"no im serious though, get in. i know you live far from here and it looks like it will start raining any minute. so don't be so tense and let your huyng give you a ride."

"uhhhh, how do you know where i live?" donghun stopped talking and gave jun a 'are-you-joking-or-did-you-finally-lost-your-last-two-braincells' look. after a moment of silence when he realized that the younger was serious he sighed and started explaining.

"one- you always ride the bus. if you lived close by you wouldn't need to use public transportation since that would take twice as long. two- your best friend is my cousin." and jun feels so dumb now. 'right....byeongkwan.' he mentally facepalms himself.

"you're right sorry. it was pretty dumb of me."

"you will be forgiven if you let me give you a ride." and he's got him there. jun took a moment to think if he should keep on fighting or just accept donghuns offer but his thoughts were cut short when both of the boys hears a loud rumbling coming from the sky. 'it will rain really soon.'

"i mean...since you insist." jun takes a few steps closer but then stops in his tracks. "do...do i take the front or back?"

donghun gives out a laugh. "what are you, a kid? c'mon sit down faster." jun nods and his hand goes for the back seat but the doors there were locked. donghun smiles at jun innocently and the younger mentally curses. 'i want to sit close to him but i don't want to sit close to him. fuck you heart.'

jun sits in the car and quickly puts his seatbelt on. he took out his phone and immediately started checking whatever he saw first, just to avoid the awkward silence that was growing with every passing second.

"so why were you at school so late?" donghun asks after taking a turn.

"student council, homework, studying. i couldn't focus in my classes at all." jun whined cutely and his lips formed into a pout. he sulked further into the seat because he's overdramatic like that. his turtleneck sweater covering up half of his face now.

"hahah awww poor baby. tell daddy hun why you couldn't focus." he said with a smug smile. when he took a peak at jun, his face was covered with his hands, ears bloody red. donghun almost felt bad for teasing the younger so much.

"because of you." jun mumbled quietly and was 100% sure the older didn't hear him. his guess was affirmed when donghun asked him to repeat what he said, but jun changed the subject.

but oh, if only he knew how much donghuns heart fluttered at his words.
