"byeongkwan? what the hell is wrong with you?" chan asked the younger as the two walked to their lunch table. the younger boy placed his food tray on the table as he watched his friend sit on the opposite side of him, and taking off his jacket, revealing a slightly cropped t-shirt. his head in the clouds. "byeongkwan!"
the small redhead boy seemed to finally snap out of his daydreams. "huh?"
"i asked what's wrong with you? ever since morning it's like you're not even here? did something happen?"
the concern in chans voice send a smile on byeongkwans face. he yet haven't told chan about whats bothering him, but his senses told him that for some reason, he shouldn't.
"oh it's nothing. i'm completely fine." he smiled and waved it off with his hand. chan looked at him skeptical for a second before deciding that it's none of his business and started eating his lunch. byeongkwan mentally sighed in relief, surprised at how well he managed to lie to chan. he knew the younger will be pissed once he finds out that he have just lied to him straight in the eyes.
he found himself spacing out randomly as he watched chan stuff his mouth with the sure delicious rice and his favorite fried chicken. byeongkwan mentally cringed while thinking about how much oil and fat that fried chicken contained in itself. but soon, he found himself just space out, thinking about what place he should go with sehyoon as their saturday 'date'. 'no byeongkwan, this isn't a date! it's just you returning him a favour, don't push it.'
"hey cutie kwan." said a voice coming from byeongkwans right side. a second later, he could feel a hand wrap around his waist and someone sitting down close next to him. he didn't even bulge as he looked to the side and saw the guy with a perm from yesterday. what was his name again? chen?
"hey..." byeongkwan hesitantly replied as he tried to scoot away from the other. he was a bit surprised when he realized he couldn't due to the tight grip the other had around his waist. also remembering the grip the other had on his hand where now there was an ugly blue bruise. not that byeongkwan was surprised though, his skin was very delicate and easily got bruised.
"how are you? want to eat lunch with me." it didn't sound like a question and byeongkwan mentally cringed. 'did this guy not get the hint?'
"i'm good and no thank you. i'm not hungry and i usually spend my lunch with channie." he looked at the brunette boy with a sickly fake smile as he tried to take chens hand off of himself.
"awh, that's a shame." he said with a pout. "you know, i really wanted to treat you with the sandwiches from the place that i have mentioned before. i bet you would have liked them."
byeongkwan noticed that the more the other talks, the closer his face is nearing his own. byeongkwan didn't like this feeling at all, he felt extremely uncomfortable. he tried to push his head back as much as he could, but there was a limit to how far his neck could go. he glanced over to chan who was watching he whole thing in shock, not knowing what to do. but byeongkwan couldn't blame him, this was the bold side of chen he has never seem before.
"chen uhhh, i would really appreciate it if you kept your social distance."
byeongkwan felt chen's body stop and saw him smirk smugly. if only looks could speak, byeongkwan would already be cussing the shit out of chen while having the other laying on the ground.
"repeat that." he said, as if not believing his own ears.
"he said move away, jackass. or do you now have hearing problems as well."
both byeongkwans and chen's heads snapped to the direction of the voice. it belonged to no other then lee donghun. byeongkwan sighed in relief and thanked the gods for sending him here. he saw other two people standing beside him. one of the was jun, and the other...'sehyoon?!'
the relief was soon replaced with panic as he roughly took chen's hands away from him while the other was still distracted and quickly pulled away. causing one of the sleeves rise in the process, revealing about 10 small purple bruises at their finest.
"shit" he muttered under his breath, knowing the others noticed.
his guess was proven right when jun quickly walked over and squatted down in front of him, examining the purple spots. his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and anger. "kwannie, isn't this where chen grabbed your hand the other day?" he looked up at his friend.
byeongkwan sighed with a nod, and gave jun a death glare. knowing that donghun will probably cause a scene now.
but before the mentioned older even took a step, sehyoon was already making his way to them, about to punch the shit out of chen.
"wait!" byeongkwan said as he abruptly stood up and blocked sehyoons way with his hand. the younger was looking sehyoon in the eyes, praying that he won't do anything stupid that will get him into trouble. meanwhile the blond male looked back at him, with a questioning yet very soft gaze. byeongkwan whispering him a small 'dont'
he quickly turned his head to look at chen, and if looks could kill, the poor brunette would be dead on the floor by now. he then looked back at byeongkwan who shook his head with a soft smile. his expression telling him it's not worth it.
with a sigh, sehyoon grabbed byeongkwans hand and pulled him out of his seat, walking out of the cafeteria.
the younger following closely behind him.
