Ch. 17 Single Parent

Pinoco hustled over to the phone to pick it up. A foreigner had cancer, and reached out for help. "Doc? They want to speak with you!"

Jack was out the door in a split second, and was catching an airplane to Canada. He should have turned it down though, because his child was due in two weeks.

Once he arrived in Toronto, he headed towards the address given.

"Ah! Thank goodness your here!" Said a woman. "My name is Megu, and my daughter her has lung cancer....." She said.

"I'll take a look, then I'll give a price." Jack said. The two walked into the little girls bedroom, she only looked around six years old.

Jack noticed and took immediate action to help the girl. He prepared to operate.

Three days passed since and he recorded that she was recovering slowly, and needed another surgery to completely be healed.

During that surgery though, another doctor came in. Not to help, but to tell him that (Y/N) was going into labor! Jack had to tell a different doctor what to do and to take over, as fast as he could.

After minutes of searching, Jack found a pilot that would take him back to Japan. He safely landed and ran to the hospital she was at.

The nurse's there let him in, he guessed that (Y/N) said that he was a skilled doctor or something, because normally they wouldn't let him in.

It was a long and painful process, but Jack was now a father to a healthy baby boy. It was the best day of his life.

It was difficult for Jack to sleep at all on some nights. Their son was crying a lot during it, But he loved him to smithereens.

Even though Jack was very tired in the day, he was still able to notice personality changes in (Y/N).

At first, she hated everything, but quickly warmed up to things around her. She had gone through massive events that made her self-esteem go down, and awareness up.

But then almost overnight, that changed. (Y/N) had started having schizophrenic breakdowns, and having motherly instincts, she acted quickly to protect their child.

Jack found it strange, this would happen for two weeks a month. He concluded, Schizophrenia. The most logical solution was using anti-psychotics, or Ziprasidone.

In short, it didn't help. Last solution before actually checking in on a brain scan or something was to use Clozapine.

Jack didn't like using heavy drugs on (Y/N), but it seemed to be the only solution that worked.

Ziprasidone and Clozapine are anti-psychotic medications mainly used on people with Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder.

Schizophrenia symptoms are hallucinations, and Bipolar is where you have mood swings that last from weeks to months.

Jack arose out of bed in discomfort. He had slept well, but it was off because of how. Pinoco was taking care of the little boy, that Jack, still didn't know what his name would be.

He finally took notice that (Y/N) was nowhere to be seen in the house. Jack found a note on top of the television.

It read:

Dear Jack,

We have taken (Y/N) again. Yes, it is I, Shiratori. Don't ask how I survived. Anyway, your a single parent now. (Y/N)'s dead. Before we killed her, she told us to tell you that she left black rubber bands in the bathroom. We checked, and couldn't find them.

When Jack heard about the rubber bands, he dashed to the bathroom. He remembered something while rebuilding the house very fondly after reading the note.

"Jack?"

"Yes?"

"This tile is going to always be loose a tiny bit!"

"Why?"

"So that way if either of us are in danger, we know that we have an opening to escape and took the chance."

"But that's not going to help..."

"Code word: I left the rubber bands in the bathroom!"

"Huh?"

"Or, if one of us goes missing we can track each other."

"How is that?"

"With this, silly!"

"A GPS?"

"I have attached others that are linked to this one, each of those work only on certain days."

"Oh."

Jack knew that his (Y/N) was safe. Looking back at the note, he noticed that it had a small blood splatter.

He knew that she was alive, but globe-trotting now. The only way to figure out her where-abouts is to ask the police world wide.

And that's what he did.
