"Do you accept checks?"

*One month later*

I fixed the last pieces of my hair and entered the reception room. After the wedding this morning and the pictures right after, I was a little tired. But the show must go on.

I sighed leaning against a wall, willing the blisters on my feet to go away. I watched as the guests mingled with Hailey and Tim. They were both so happy. Someone clinked one of their glasses and the newlyweds leaned in for a quick kiss.

"Where is my twenty dollars?"

I rolled my eyes and turned to Drew. "I told you already, I don't have my wallet. I'll give it to you in a few."

He squinted towards me. "That's what you said this morning during pictures. I'm losing faith that you'll even pay up."

I sighed exasperatedly. "You'll get it. Besides I need to go talk to the newlyweds."

Drew walked beside me as we walked to the happy couple.

"Maybe they'll have twenty dollars that you can borrow."

"DREW! I swear, one more word and you're never going to get it."

Tim turned to us and grinned. "What are you two fighting about?"

"Nothing that important."

Hailey grinned and turned towards Drew.

"I was just going to come talk to you. I just wanted to thank you for all the help you gave Tim."

Drew's eyes went wide and he nodded his head quickly. He almost seemed guilty.

"Yeah, for sure, this food, by the way, is great. Pulled pork sliders what a fantastic choice." He said, quickly changing the conversation.

"Wait, I didn't get to hear what you helped with Drew. I didn't know you could be helpful," I teased.

Tim nodded. "Yeah, he was the best actually, he helped me set up the engagement. He made sure that I did it before I missed my shot."

"Oh really?" I grinned towards Drew.

"He kept saying, May 31st was the perfect date for an engagement, and it was," Tim said. I raised my eyebrows at a sheepish Drew. Hailey stepped forward.

"He even helped us with the cards making sure we got them out in time so they could come to everyone in June."

Drew's head was slumped and my smile kept getting wider. "Let me guess he picked out your wedding date too."

Hailey nodded. "Well not really picked but suggested. But I have to say it was perfect."

I nodded as Hailey and Tim were pulled away by other people. I turned to Drew and punched him squarely in the shoulder.

"Yeesh, that was a little hard," He complained.

"You, my friend, are a dirty rotten cheater. You know what that means?"

He nodded. "I'll give you the 20 bucks and you get a favor from me."

"Exactly. Revenge is sweet."

He sighed. "Do you accept checks?"
