Annabeth

As soon as the fight began, Annabeth lost sight of Percy. She was consumed with worry for him, but she tried to focus on the battle since she would be killed if she didn't. Almost immediately, she was surrounded by various monsters along with HYDRA agents. She was very thankful for her extra training with Natasha, which allowed her to take care of the mortals on her own without using her sword or even killing them. She just knocked them out and left them on the ground to deal with later.

A few minutes into the fight, Annabeth noticed that she was next to Steve. He was holding his own against multiple soldiers at once, and he was managing to dodge the occasional monster too or push them away with his shield. He glanced at Annabeth and nodded at her, and without communication, they began working together. If too many monsters were coming after him, he directed them towards Annabeth and she made quick work of them. If a soldier too skilled for her attacked her, she maneuvered them in front of Steve who eliminated the problem.

Soon, Annabeth found herself facing two Laistrygonians. They were enormous and moved surprisingly fast for their size, making it hard for Annabeth to land a hit on them. Her mind was racing as she tried to figure out a way to defeat them when Steve's shield caught her attention in the corner of her eye.

Steve looked at her and understood immediately. He braced his knees and positioned the shield in place. Annabeth leaped onto it and Steve pushed upwards, launching Annabeth toward the giants. The attack caught them off guard and she was able to knock one to the ground, where she stabbed it in the chest before it could recover. Without wasting any time, Annabeth whirled and sliced the remaining Laistrygonian's legs and they were both nothing but dust. From that point on, Annabeth periodically jumped off of Steve's shield to gain a better attack point.

Voices chattered from her earpiece throughout the fight. They cut in and out a bit, losing some words, but for the most part, she could hear everything being reported. Every time she heard Percy's voice, she breathed a sigh of relief. Her heart sped up when she heard about the drakon and the Hydra, but once they had been defeated, she breathed a bit easier.

Annabeth's ADHD allowed her to keep track of her allies within the cluster of enemies. Vision was floating above it all, blasting monsters and soldiers alike with the stone in his head and punching or kicking any of the monsters that got too close to him. Elena—or Yo-Yo, as Mack called her—was on the edge of the battle, her sporadically flickering figure coinciding with soldiers twenty feet away being thrown off their feet. Whenever they approached her, her robot arms were brutal in taking them down. Mack's huge muscles were put to good use smashing HYDRA agents, along with his shotgun-ax. He really knew how to use that thing.

Annabeth spotted her demigod friends in the mix as well. Piper wielded Katoptris easily, stabbing monsters that were distracted by her charmspeak-powered cries of "That one called you ugly! On your left! Put your right foot in and shake it all about!" Lavinia Asimov was on top of a car with her cumbersome but effective manuballista, her bright pink hair making her stand out like a sore thumb. A few of her fellow Camp Jupiter centurions that Annabeth didn't know the names of stood just below Lavinia, helping ward off the enemy. Butch Walker and Connor and Travis Stoll were continuously cutting a path through the battle. The Stoll brothers had some nasty tricks up their sleeves that Annabeth was glad hadn't been used for pranks back at Camp Half-Blood. She recognized a few other cabin counselors from Camp Half-Blood such as Lou Ellen—equipped with some deadly spells—as well as Annabeth's own half-brother Malcolm, who had no trouble causing a lot of destruction with his grappling hook. The Hunters of Artemis were spread throughout the streets as well, some of them right in the middle of the fight with their hunting knives while others perched on cars, rooftops, or in windows firing their bows.
