"Is the camera recording?" Momma asked Papa. Papa turned the camera and checked to see if the red light is on. Once confirmed, he held a thumbs up. "Okay everyone. Ready? One.. two.. three.." Momma said and everyone joined along. "Happy birthday to you...." Tuning them out, I stared at the flaming six on the ice cream cake. 'Okay Savanna, you can do this. All you have to do is wait until the time was right to ask him.' I told myself and felt a hand on my shoulder.Turning around, I saw a Raven haired boy, piercing golden eyes, and the most sweetest smile I've ever saw. "Make a wish Savanna." He said and gave a small smile. Looking at the candle I closed my eyes. 'Please let me be with him forever. Even if we split apart, please let him find me,' I asked to whoever granted wishes. Inhaling, I blew out the candle and they clapped.
Smiling, I looked at them. The golden eyed boy held my hand, and my heart fluttered. "Elijah, do you wanna give Savanna her gift first?" Momma asked the boy and he nodded. I nearly lost it when I heard that he got me a gift. Smiling uncontrollably, I looked at him. Holding up a small box with a cute red bow, he gave it to me. Gulping a little loud, my hands trembled trying to open it. Pulling the velvety ribbon, the bow came apart and fell onto my lap. Opening it laid a moon with a wolf carved into the center of it. Gasping, I graze my fingertips on the wolf. "Turn it over." Elijah said softly into my ear and I obeyed. Turning it over, tears filled my eyes.
It read: Savanna 💘 Elijah. Elijah wiped a tear that was sliding down my cheek. "Here, let me put it on you." He said and took the box from my hands. Moving my hair to the side he slid it around my neck. Looking at my momma and papa, they were both smiling and holding each other. My mother was also tearing up and my papa gently rubbed her arm.
Once the necklace was on, I hugged Elijah. My head started tingling, and I knew Elijah was trying to communicate with me mentally. Opening the connection I smiled. "You're getting better," he said and I giggled. "Yes. We have been practicing for the last month." I smiled but then confusion filled. "Why did you want to open the connection? Why couldn't we've actually talked in front of them?" I asked and looked at him. "Because, I have another present for you but they don't know about it. Later on tonight I'm taking you out to see the most beautifulest moon you've ever seen." (They're six and nine, so they don't know the right Grammer.) "Really? Can I ride on your back?" I asked with a sparkle in my eye. "Anything for the birthday girl," Elijah said and rubbed my head. 'This is it. I'll tell when he takes me to see the moon.' I declared and felt kinda nervious
⏳Timeskip⏳
Laying in my bed, I fondled with the necklace. Hearing rustling, I sat up in bed. With my window open, I looked out it. Nervous I called out, "Elijah?" Climbing out onto the roof, I look around. Walking around towards the backyard, I hear something behind me.
Happy, I turn around. "Ahh, there's the birthday girl." A young boy, around Elijah's age, appeared there smiling. With his British accent, I was confused. "Rhys, what are you doing here?" I asked and backed up some. "Why, wishing the birthday girl a happy birthday, of course." He said with a smile. "Why are you really here Rhys?" I asked crossing my arms. He looked down at my neck and his smile faded quickly. "He got you a necklace..." He murmured and I raised a eyebrow. "What? Speak up," I said annoyed. His mood change was overpowering and I had to back up and lower my head just to try and make it stop.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him, "You know what he is, don't you?" He glared down at me and squeezed my wrist. "L-let me go Rhys. You're hurting me!" I said hissing. "I won't let him have you, Savanna." His voice was so deep, I had to crouch down to show my surrender. "Let me go!" I said weakly. Trying to contact Elijah mentally, somehow it didn't work. Rhys was blocking my communication towards him. Pulling me up to my feet, he tilted my head and growled. Frozen from fear, I felt his fangs graze my neck. "R-rhys... S-stop.." Tears falling from my eyes, I couldn't match his strength.
I guess he heard something because he stopped and growled louder. "I won't let him have you.." he said while looking out into the distance. Shaking, I let out a soft sob, he let me go and jumped off the roof. I curl up into a ball and covered my face with my knees. The cool breeze shuffles through my hair and I felt a presence near me. Scared to look up, I whimpered.
"Savanna? What happened? Why are you up here?" The voice of an angel. Elijah held me in his arms and I cried harder. "I tried to contact you but the line was blocked. Who was her-" he stopped and growled. "He was here wasn't he?" Elijah asked and I nodded slightly, holding on tight.
"Did he hurt you? What did he say?" Elijah was checking me quickly. Once he got to my wrists I was scared to look at him. "What did he say to you, Savanna," he growled and I flinched. "H-he s-said that h-he wouldn't l-let you have m-me.." I said with my voice shaky. "Fuck," he snarled. I was surprised because Elijah rarely cursed unless he was really pissed off. Breathing deeply, he sighed. "I'll deal with him later, I promised you a second present and I stick to my word." He said and smiled, trying to change the mood. Bless his heart.
He shifted and licked my cheek. I wrap my arms around his neck and get on his back. Laying my head on his furry neck, I felt safe as always when I'm with him. Closing my eyes, I held on tight as he started to run. A few minutes later, he slowed to a trot. Looking around, I saw that we were in an open field. Looking up, I gasped. Up in the midnight sky, was the most beautiful full moon I've ever seen. It was huge!
He stopped and I got down without taking my eyes off the moon. It was like something was pulling me towards it. Elijah shifted and smiled. "Luna is calling you, isn't she?" He said, hugging me from behind. "She's so beautiful..." I said. "She is, isn't she?" He asked and snuggled into the crook of my neck. Heat flushed my face but I couldn't stop looking at the moon. Everything started to enhance. I felt different, more lively. For some reason, I howled and Elijah joined in. Then I heard more howls, looking straight again, I saw that we were surrounded by wolves. Strangely, I wasn't scared like I should be. It was like they all worshiped me in a way.
Then that's when I smelled it. Something burning. Turning around, I looked at Elijah with a confused expression on my face. "What's burning?" I asked and his expression changed. We started running back. He changed but I somehow managed to keep up with him. Turning around the corner, I ran faster than ever. Tears streaming down my face, I ran into the burning house without thinking. "Momma! Papa! Where are you?" I called out coughing. I held up my shirt to cover my nose, and kept looking. "Savanna? Honey, you have to get out now!" Momma yelled from across the hallway. I tried to push the door open but it was stuck. "No! Not without you!" I cried. "Please momma! Open the door," I started kicking it, hoping that it would work but it didn't. "Savanna, you have to go with Elijah! Get out of the house!" Papa said coughing. "No!" I protested and looked around to find something to pry the door open. "Sweetie, you have to. It'll only be for a little while. We'll find you in a few hours." Momma said, her voice weak. "No! Momma please!" Elijah grabbed my arm and started pulling. "No! Let me go!" I kicked and screamed. Eventually he wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up of the ground. "We have to get out of here!" He said and coughed. "No! Not without momma and papa!" I cried so hard, my voice went out a few times. We were outside and some distance away. I tried to struggle my way out of Elijah's arms but he held an iron grip. I tried to find his weak spot so I could get out, when I did, I ran towards the house but Elijah tackled me. All of a sudden, there was a loud boom. With my ears ringing, I screamed to the point where no sound came out, my eyes rolled in the back of my head and passed out.
