Chapter 2

I stood the baffled by what just happened. What the heck?! The bell rang signaling two minutes to first period. I sprinted to my classroom. By the time I got there I was ready to pass out. Did I mention how severly out of shape I was. I plopped down at an empty desk. The last bell rang telling us first period officially strarted.

"Welcome to Earth Science." She greeted us. I innwardly groaned. Great, a whole year of studying rocks! "When I call your name say, 'Here.'" She read the names off the list. I zoned out untill I heard "Avery Driscall."

"Here." I zoned out for the rest of class. 'Little Things' by One Direction kept playinging in my mind. It was impossible to think.

Finally the bell rang and i dashed out of that boring class. I met up with Gracelynn and Gina on the way to math.

"You want to know what that bitch, Patricia said to me!" I said to my friends.

"What?" they said, looking at me.

"She said she would never be friends with a fat cow like me."

"What!" Gracelynn shouted. "That bitch! I can't believe she would say someting like that to you." I smiled at Gracelynn.

"Speak of the devil." said Gina "Take cover!" Tracy came walking down the hallway with Patricia and her pose in tow. She grinned a siclky sweet smile at me that I wanted to slap off her face.

"Hey Aveeeery." she drawled. "I like how that skirt brings out the cellulite in your thighs."

"And how that tank top brings out the fat in your arms." Particia added. I gave the biggest smile I could muster.

"Why thank you!" I put as much enthusiasm in it as I could. Tracey smiled sweetly at me and walked away with her pose and Patricia following her like lost puppies.

"You know your not fat right." Gina said to me. I nodded weakly and continued down the hallway.

~~~~~~~ Lunchtime

"Hey!" I called sitting at the table with Gracelynn, Gina, and Aimee.

They all chorused their "wassups" and "heys!"

"Aren't you going to get something to eat?" Aimee asked me.

"No, Im not hungry." I lied.

"This isn't about what Patricia and Tracey said right." Gina asked me.

"No! I just had a really big breakfeast this morning." They gave me quizzical looks but didn't say anything. I was greatful for that. I took a peice of gum out of my bag and chomped on it, hoping it would get rid of the hungry feeling in my stomach.

"Guess what I got!!!!!!!" Gina sang. We all looked at her.

"What?" asked Gracelynn. Gina gave us a huge smile.

"I won four tickets to the One Direction concert in two weeks!!!!!!!!!"

"NO FREAKIN WAY!!!!" I screamed.

"YES FREAKIN WAY!!!!!" she screamed back. All four of us started jumping around the cafeteria screaming our heads off. Then I relized we were still in the school careteria.

"Guys," I said laughing, "We are still in the cafeteria." They looked around and started laughing. We all sat down and continued with our lunch.

I walked out into the parking lot and looked around for my brother's car. I spotted it and walked over.

"Hey." I greeted him.

"What?" he asked. "You think I am driving you home?"

"Uh, yea."

"Well your mistaken. Take the bus." I looked and saw the last bus pulling away.

"I can't. They just left."

"Then walk." I stared at him. Seeing if he was serious.

"Fine. I need to lose weight anyway." I spun on my heel and walked away. I heard him get into his car. He pulled up next to me.

"Come on Avery. Get in the car." he said looking kind of guilty.

"No." I shoved my headphones into my ears and turned on my iPod. I turned up One Direction and started my walk home.
