Alexis' P.O.V
Immediately as I walked through the door, a strong sweet scent bombed my nostrils.
"What's that smell?" I questioned my dad as he was carefully slicing vegetables for dinner.
"That would be your grandmother, she's getting ready for her so called date. Its like she never runs out of adrenaline"
He then smiled broadly at my arrival raising on of his bushy eyebrows before questioning how it went. Then proceeding to point out my tardiness.
"The tour took longer than expected" I shrugged, biting into my sandwich, leaving out the part where I purposely took more time than required by strolling.
Oops.
"Why was it even during the weekend?"
"The principal said that it would be more convenient". He responded, not looking at me.
When the topic of what was being prepared for dinner was brought up, his smile brightened, before telling me it was a surprise, and sending me to my room to relax.
I scurried up the long carpeted staircase which instantly teleported me to the narrow hallway which hid away all of our bedrooms.
I entered mine, and seconds later my body was being absorbed by the comfortable white matress, and sea of fluffy pillows.
Oh sleep, how I've missed you.
My eyes gently fluttered open, and were instantly stabbed by the blazing rays of the sun.
What a lovely contrast.
OH MY GOSH IT IS TOO EARLY TO BE ALIVE...
"Alexis time to get ready" My grandmother's voice banged and scattered throughout the hallway, penetrating my sensitive eardrums.
"Five more..." I began, but was interrupted by her harsh voice that told me kindly, and I quote, "Get your lazy ass off the bed, or give up on your hopeless life".
Morning encouragement is always appreciated.
I sprang off my comfortable bed, entering my bathroom, where I took a shower, and brushed my teeth. Drying off, I walked into my closet, extracting my baby blue, high waisted jeans, a rose gold off the shoulder top, and vans.
It'll do.
As I rushed downstairs for breakfast, I was greeted by my dad's gentle voice saying "Morning Alex".
"Morning dad" I responded grabbing the plate of whipped cream, and berry coated waffles he prepared for me.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked, slowly sipping on his black coffee.
"It was great until grandma's rude awakening" I pouted.
"I can hear you!" she shouted over the loud vaccuming sound coming from the living room.
I swear that woman is superhuman.
I finished breakfast, told the grinch goodbye then set off with my dad in his car to the torture chambers they call school.
School is a struggle.
Especially since I'm the new girl in the middle of my senior year.
"Yes everyone, my name is Alexis Carter and I am joining you in the middle of my senior year. Now that you know this I would appreciate it if you mind your own damn business" My declaration was all it took before they removed their curious gazes that were once taped to my body.
