"Hyunjin where are we going?" Seungmin whined as he followed Hyunjin down the streetlight lit road. "Just trust me" Hyunjin whispered as he gripped Seungmin's hand tighter in his.
The two boys have been going out for almost seven months now. Starting off as a friend of a friend. Jeongin was Seungmin's best friend in high school, the two were inseparable. Wherever Jeongin was you were sure to find Seungmin right by his side.
Chan was Jeongin's older crush, also captain of the soccer ball team. That's where Hyunjin comes in- occasional goalkeeper but mostly a midfielder. He was close with the soccer captain, the two always going out together for ice cream after a tough game.
Jeongin wanted to get closer to Chan, so he started showing up to every one of his games, cheering him on, being his own personal cheerleader and Chan loved it. He didn't know who this random boy was at first, but he was intrigued by him and soon the two become friends until Jeongin came skipping into school wearing one of Chan's jerseys on game day.
Seungmin of course got dragged to all these games, anything that involved seeing Chan he was dragged to. Even their first date which turned out to be a SET up. It was a double date with none other then the one and only Hyunjin.
That's when Seungmin got to meet Hyunjin for the first time. Of course he saw him at the games, always saw him with Chan, but he knew nothing about the older boy. Only that he was very handsome, even when he was sweaty and gross.
It didn't take long for them to click, getting along effortlessly- becoming best friends quickly. Hyunjin didn't replace Jeongin by no means, but when Jeongin was busy with Chan you were sure to find Seungmin out with Hyunjin.
Feelings were caught quickly from Seungmin's side. Hyunjin was always so caring and sweet, maybe overly dramatic and a little stubborn, but Seungmin fell hard. The other boy was charming what could he say.
Hyunjin fell hard too. Seungmin was easy to fall for, there was never a dull moment with the slightly younger boy. He would talk to Hyunjin about everything and the older loved that. He loved that Seungmin always had something to say, even if it was completely irrelevant like how many stars are in the sky. Hyunjin just loved it, but Seungmin didn't know that.
The whole time they had been together neither said I love you. Seungmin too scared he'd scare off his boyfriend and Hyunjin too nervous to speak up. "Jinnie baby" Seungmin whined as they turned into a little field. Hyunjin hummed as he continued to drag Seungmin through the field of Rosemary.
"Baby why are we here?" Seungmin asked as Hyunjin had stopped pulling him along. Seungmin looked around taking in the amazing smell going from the Rosemary plants and the sun setting in the horizon. It was a beautiful sight and Seungmin was in awe.
Hyunjin took Seungmin's hands into his "Seungmin" he whispered as he looked at the other boy, who was still looking at their surroundings.
Seungmin focused on Hyunjin after a few seconds, squeezing his hands in his so the older knew he was finally listening. Hyunjin smiled softly while leaning in to place a soft kiss on Seungmin's lips, the slightly shorter boy kissed back softly while letting go of Hyunjin's hands to wrap his arms around his neck.
"Seungmin" Hyunjin whispered against his lips "yes?" The younger asked while pressing his forehead against Hyunjin's. Hyunjin smiled at Seungmin pressing his lips against the younger's once more.
They kissed slowly, just basking in each other presence before Hyunjin pulled away again. "I love you" he whispered, but Seungmin froze. "W-what?" He stuttered as he pulled back to state at the older boy.
Hyunjin smiled at Seungmin's blushing cheeks "I said I love you" he repeated. Seungmin gasped quietly before bursting out into the biggest smile Hyunjin had ever seen.
"I love you too!" He practically shouted as he jumped into Hyunjin's arms. The older blushed as he held Seungmin close to his body. Hyunjin held him tightly while slightly swaying them back and fourth.
The sun had completely set by now and a cool breeze filled the air. Hyunjin bent down and grabbed a small piece of rosemary and tucked it behind Seungmin's ear. "Pretty baby" he whispered as he kissed the younger's forehead.
Seungmin blushed again before taking Hyunjin's hand in his "I love you" he whispered into the night air. Hyunjin smiled while looking up at the stars "I love you too" he whispered back
