Outside Betty's Home

Dinner was over, Mary and Alice hugged each thanking them for the evening and for the favour the next day. Archie and Betty stood behind their mother in the lawn-pathway; they just smiled looking at them and each other. Mary left first and Alice wished Archie a goodnight and went inside. Archie turned towards Betty "thanks for the dinner Betty! I think my mom's finally getting to be herself!!" Archie said looking at his mom walking towards his house. Betty joking punched Archie for thanking her "ya...mine too!!" and both laughed, probably owing to the cool breeze at the night but at that moment they felt lighter, their minds free of any problem.

Something took over Betty and she suddenly stepped forward and hugged Archie taking him by surprise. "What's this for?" Archie asked hugging her back; Betty smiled "For always being there and worrying for me!" Archie caressed her back and both let go smiling like idiots. "Good night Arch!!" Betty said taking a step towards her door, "Good night!!" Archie said and walked away catching up with his mom before she entered their house.

Archie's Room,

He walked inside feeling free-minded and happy at the same time, which was unusual for anyone in Riverdale. He took off the coat and through it on the chair when something fell down gaining his attention. He hadn't turned on his lights, yet the moon provided enough light; he walked towards it and picked it up. He chuckled instantly seeing the photo again, he walked back and fell on his bed still looking at it. The light from the window shined directly at the photo, he could control the smile that erupted with it, and his eyes dilated as his mind took him back to that memory.

He remembered how happy he was, not because he passed his grade but because of the smile on Betty's face. When the teacher said he had passed, the first person he saw was Betty who looked happier than him. That li'l Archie wanted to get up from his chair and go kiss Betty that instant but his teacher's voice ringed in the class gaining everyone's attention. As soon as the bell rang, Archie ran out of the room first out; he could hear Betty call after but he didn't stop he needed to do something before she reaches her house.

Few minutes later, Archie stood panting heavily before his home frequently peaking at the road. He had just run to his home, back in town and back to home all within Betty reaching here. Still heavily breathing, he smiled and looked at his hand and let a few breaths out calming his excitement. His mind started to fill the gap for his future, all of which included Betty right next to him. He turned again to see Betty walking slowly with her head down.

He waited for her to climb the stairs to her lawn and ran towards her; he caught her hand and topped her couple of steps before the door. "Oh my god Archie! You scared me!!" Betty exclaimed startled by his action but recovered instantly "Where have you been? Why didn't you wait for me??" she asked almost pouncing on him. He smiled at her "I had to do something..." he said, a curious Betty instantly asked "What?" Archie stood there looking at her.

"Archie? Archie??" Betty called him yet he kept staring at her, he was trying very hard to gather his courage. Betty started to worry about him "Oh god Arch! Are you alright? Are you feeling sick?? Should I---" Betty momentarily turned towards her house and turned back just as Archie placed his lips on hers. Betty stood there stunned without moving; Archie kissed her and moved back to his position. He smiled at Betty's expression feeling a little embarrassed, Betty was completely taken aback she blinked as a strange heat ran through her face.
