This is a long one, ye' be warned. (It's worth it, I hope).

The cannons weren't the only things that were shaking the Jolly Roger as Killian stood on the deck. Thunder boomed overhead and lightning struck all around them. The rain was falling in buckets upon their heads and the entire crew was soaked and chilled to the bone. Killian was frantic as he looked around for Emma. He couldn't see her and he felt that something was wrong. He scanned the Jolly Roger and all the other ships, only to find her on the enemy boat. He sighed.

"Bloody Hell." He cursed. What was she thinking? The Jolly Roger was too far away now to make that jump himself, with a hook. The Black Knights were swarming her and it was too much for her to handle alone.

"Killian!" She cried out frantic when she met his gaze across the water. He'd be dammed if he let anything take her away from him again.

"Swan! Hang on! I'll find a way to help you." He replied. Killian hoped that she couldn't hear the terror in his voice. He was trying to think of a way to help her without costing more lives of his crew. It was too dangerous to steer the Jolly roger any closer to the enemy ships and even then he was at a disadvantage with his hook. Suddenly, someone made the choice for him.

"I got her!" Baelfire yelled swinging from Pan's ship that was closer to the ship that Emma was on. Killian at first was stung with a pang of jealousy. The man who had broken Emma's heart was the one that was attempting to save her and not him. However, he remembered that it was Bae who had offered them their help, which they obviously needed. Now, Killian only hoped that he wouldn't let Emma down again.

He turned away to face his crew, they had only lost two. Richard and Bernard. They mostly worked below deck with supplies and preparing meals. They could make it through this, all of his men were fighting valiantly, even the new young kitchen boy from Emma's castle, Samuel. Killian glanced one last time at Emma and Bae before going to help the rest of his crew survive.

"What are you doing here?" Emma questioned as soon as Baelfire landed right beside her. She had almost gotten all of the Knights. There were just the remaining few that she could not get rid of and if she was being honest, she was getting tired and couldn't fend them off by herself. The heavy rain and cold were not doing a lot to help her either at the moment.

"You called out for help." He simply stated before attacking one of the knights that were coming up from behind Emma, out of her view.

"I'm pretty sure I asked for Killian." Emma retorted.

"He seemed a little busy. Besides, I was hoping that we could talk."

"Talk? While we are in the middle of survival? What is there to even talk about?" Emma asked, even though there was so much that she did need to say to him. Emma took down another knight.

"I'm sorry." He said. "I was on a mission for a very long time to get out of this realm even before I met you." He paused as he swung a sword at a knight that was advancing upon him. "And when I met you, I thought I could stay here. I wanted to show you the world and be there for you but my father was always haunting me. I needed to get away from him because of what he had done to me a long time ago. That night in Neverland, Emma, that was me being selfish as Peter Pan made the job easy for me. He gave me what I needed to leave this realm and to start anew without my father. I'm sorry. I was thinking about myself and I was also trying to protect you from my father. I know I may never be forgiven for hurting you but I owe you the explanation." Bae said rather quickly through the fighting that commenced between them and the knights. They had almost defeated them, there were only about four left on this ship.
