Months apart and a series of broken lines,
Haunting and hunting my heart.
My love, once a historical line of two
No longer beats the same for you.I choked up the tears in a speeding car,
As the rain splattered across the window.
I closed my eyes with uneven breaths,
Imagining you tangling your hands in mine.Whispering sweet nothings of how we could be,
But that was the past behind me.
You sat there once in a car beside me too,
Mouthing the words I love you. Before you left me in the road that never diverged,
Before you left my soul in pieces, crushed and shattered.
