Adi stood in one corner of the party hall and glanced at his watch. It was 8 at night. She would be alone at home... But wait. Not again. No more wasting time thinking of her. That's final.
"Hey dude why are you standing all alone?" Sid asked offering a drink.
"No. I am just bored with this party," he said, refusing the drink.
A girl in blue short dress came from behind "Adi you and refusing to drink?" she exclaimed in surprise.
He got irritated and snapped the glass and drank it in one go. He was himself in such a dilemma of his changing attitude that even a slight remark made him conscious.
"Come let's dance," Roshni said pulling his arm.
"No don't feel like. And I have to go now"
"Come on, Adi, it's my birthday," she said pouting.
"Your birthday is tomorrow," he said flatly.
"So? It's my birthday party and you'll have to stay till midnight" she insisted.
"Alright," he said raising both his hands in surrender and then added in his typical flirting tone, "Your wish is my command" with a heart-stopping dimpled smile making her grin widely and went dancing floor with her.
Adi took a guitar and started playing it. The whole gathering was mesmerized by the flawless rocking music that filled the hall.
Adi- Tenu main love karda,
Bematlab karda'
Bahon mein aa soniye,
Bas aaj raat ke liye'
Girls - Subahahhone na de
Saath khone na de '
Ekdusreko hum sone na de,
Tu mera hero...haanhaan hero...
For long in the party, all were dancing and enjoying the party.
It was eleven when Adi excused himself out of the hall and went out of the hall.
He could no longer pretend to himself to be carelessly enjoying. She was all alone'
He opened the door when a slender hand blocked his way into the car.
"Roshni," he said, frowning.
"You can't fool me in the crowd and sneak out of the party like this," she said, bending her head with unsteady legs.
"Roshni you are fully drunk. Get back to the hall. I need to go now."
"No" she denied stubbornly "What's the hurry, Adi? It's my birthday. You-you can't leave me tonight" she said bending on him smiling in her drunken state.
He frowned irritably "Fine let's go in," he said pulling her into the hall. Once he reached in he pushed her into Sid's arms making him grin in surprised gratefulness and left immediately.
