"Prince Luigi: Never Alone" (A Luigi's Mansion AU fanfic)

Chapter 3: School

Luigi was now old enough to start school. And today was his first day in Kindergarten. He already had everything he needed in his Boo backpack.

It was 7am, time for him to wake up. "Luigi. It's time to wake up," he heard his father telling him. He slowly opened his eyes. "Good morning, King Dad." "Good morning, Luigi. It's the first day of school."

"Yay! Can I bring my Boo plushie? Pwease???" Luigi asked adorably. King Boo chuckled. "Alright. Just don't loose it and try not to get it dirty, okay?" "I promise!"

King Boo smiled. "Good. Now get dressed. Breakfast will be ready soon." "Okay!" Luigi rushed to grabbed his school uniform and went to the bathroom to change.

Afterwards, King Boo helped Luigi with his tie. He then picked him up and carried him to the kitchen to have breakfast.

After breakfast, King Boo walked Luigi to school. They already met his teacher and other school staffs. Luigi hugged King Boo before going to class.

King Boo hugged his son back. "You have a good day at school, okay, son?" "Okay, King Dad!" "I love you." "I love you, too." Luigi soon went to class and King Boo went back to the mansion, waiting for the school day to be over.

Time skipping to recess, Luigi was swinging at the swing set with his Boo plushie. A kid, a bit older than Luigi, came to him. He looked alot like him, but shorter.

"Hey, you're Luigi, right?" The kid asked him. "Yup! What's your name?" "I'm Mario! I'm the prince of the Mushroom Kingdom!"

Luigi was surprised. "You're a prince, too?!" "Yes, and you're a prince as well?!" Mario asked him excitedly. "Yeah! I'm the Prince of the Boos!" Mario was amazed.

Luigi and Mario both chat alot, becoming great friends, on the swing sets. But then a small group of kids came up to them.

"So we heard you're the prince of the Boos?" One of the kids asked Luigi. "Y-yeah...? Why?" Luigi was a bit nervous. "Quite interesting how you're not even a Boo yourself! You were adopted, weren't you?"

"Y-yeah...? Why does it matter?" Luigi asked them. The kids laughed harshly. "Quite pathetic!" Another kid said as they grabbed Luigi's Boo plushie. "Hey! Give it back!!" Luigi tried to reach for his plushie, but the kids wouldn't let him.

"Aw, what are you gonna do if we don't? Cry?!" They laughed harshly more. Luigi was shedding tears at this point. "You heard my friend. Give it back to him!" Mario told the kids.

"Or what? What are you gonna do about it?!" Mario didn't answer. Instead, he started to beat the kids up. He made sure Luigi's Boo plushie wasn't getting dirty or anything.

Once Mario was done, he gave Luigi his plushie back. "Thank you, Mario," Luigi thanked him. "You're welcome, Luigi." Mario smiled.

After school, King Boo picked Luigi up. "Hey, Luigi! How was the first day of school?" He asked his son. "Well it was interesting... I met another prince! His name is Mario and he's the prince of the Mushroom Kingdom! But while we were talking, a group of mean kids came up to us and took my plushie... I tried to get them to stop... But they didn't... But then Mario beat them up and got my plushie back for me! We hanged out together for the rest of the day!" Luigi told him.

"Wow, that's really interesting. Also, you mentioned something about mean kids?" King Boo was concerned. "Well I don't know their names are... But they were making fun of me for being your son... Because I'm adopted and not really a Boo, like you..." Luigi was shedding tears at this point.

King Boo gently wiped his tears away. "It's okay, Luigi. It's gonna be okay." "King Dad...? Am I really part of the Boo family...? I feel like I'm not..."

That broke King Boo's heart. After hearing his son saying that to him. He hugged his son. Luigi hugged him back.

"Luigi, even though I adopted you, you're still my son. You'll always be my son. You'll always be part of the Boo family. Kids are gonna say things to hurt you, unfortunately.

"But you don't have to worry about what they say. It'll take time, but I'll help you. You'll be able to stand up for yourself.

"I'm not trying to change you into something that I know you're not. I just want you to be able to defend yourself."

"... I don't feel like I can..." "That's okay. I'll help you. Even the Boos will help you. We're family. Helping each other is what we do."

Luigi was feeling better about his family, knowing that they're there for him. He also feel like Mario would help him as well.

"Thank you, King Dad." "You're welcome, son. Would you like a snack before taking a nap?" "Yes, please..." "Alright, anything in particular you'd like?" "Uhh... Grapes, please?" "Sure thing, son."

After they went in the mansion, they were greeted by the Boos. Luigi smiled. King Boo saw Luigi's smile and smiled as well.

They went into the kitchen to get Luigi's grapes. After Luigi finished eating, he started to fall asleep in his dad's embrace. King Boo kept his son in his embrace while he was sleeping. "Sweet dreams, son. I love you." "I love you too, King Dad..." King Boo smiled.
