Dear Frenchie,

I know you're in France for family matters, but your family here misses you. Washington calls your name thinking here. Washington is calling Alexander "son" even more than normal because you aren't here. I've never seen Washington so down in the dumps, that means to be sad or depressed, it's another saying if you didn't know. Alexander speaks in French thinking that he is speaking to you. John doesn't quite understand what Alexander is saying and he needs your help with translating. We miss you cursing out Lee in French because someone needs to put him in his place even if most of us can't understand what you are saying. But most of all, I miss you. The tent is so lonely and quiet without your French singing. I hope your family is doing well and that you will return home soon. I miss you Frenchie.

Sincerely,

Hercules Mulligan
