Vivlio loved this part. Seeing the girls experience magic for the first time; watching their expressions turn from fear to awe; sharing in their delight as the world became new and exciting again. It had been a long time since Viv had learned of magic and she cherished every new reader that came along, absorbing their wonder and feeling lighter for it.

As the magic washed over Ava and the fear slipped away, Viv genuinely smiled; her anger dissolving like sugar in hot tea.

She saw the world as Ava did, bathed in shimmering blues, glowing purples, flickering reds, and swirling greens. The magic swirled to life, pulled from its slumber in the Inbetween.

She saw the magic's colours dance through the air, collecting energy as it twirled and leaped, vibrating with the joy of being awoken. It stretched its colours and slithered along Viv's skin. It had been a long while since either had been awake.

"Hello, old friend," Viv whispered, stretching out her hand to feel the flow of the magic. "Are you ready to go again?"

She inhaled deeply, feeling refreshed. She saw Ava's eyes widen when the smells hit her, and the taste of magic exploded on her tongue. The salty taste of the ocean and the sweet scent of the Egyptian lotus spoke of their upcoming journey.

If her smile got any wider, Viv was sure her face would split. Her joy at being in use again was overwhelming and incomparable. There was nothing like the thrill of magic weaving itself around you, cleansing away the anger and frustration and the tears, leaving behind nothing but the good and the happy, and as the magic wound itself around the girls, Viv felt alive again. She breathed deeply, the magic sinking into her skin, finding its home in her soul, and she watch with satisfaction as the magic found its home in Ava too.

It was time for a new adventure.
