Bakugo's POV:

The prince felt sore from training and the hard stone throne that stabbed into his back. He leaned forward onto his knees to try and ease the sting. Around him servants buzzed through the room, setting up chairs, a buffet, and dusting off every last inch of the giant throne room. Each of them trying to impress the young alpha as they passed. No matter the gender, age, or second gender was. Of course, almost all the servants were omega's or beta's. And of course, none caught his attention.
He sneered to himself their scents reached his nostrils. They purposely released a conservative amount of pheromones to try and grab his attention. But either the scents were disgustingly overpowering, immensely sweet, just plain weird, or all of the above. So to counterattack it he released his own cinnamon and spice scent. One that told everyone around him 'Fuck off or get your ass beaten.' 11 times out of 10 it worked.
"Hey, Brat!" The queen herself shouted out to her son. "Make yourself useful and get ready!" She walked up the stairs to where he sat and picked him up by his cape's scruff. He kicked and hollered but no matter how many explosions rang out she kept a firm on him.
"Let go of me you old hag!" He snarled and the servants around them starred in fear. She swung him back to gain momentum and threw him down the red velvet carpet with a grunt. "WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR-OW!" A jewel-encrusted flat made contact with the blond's forehead.
"Just do as you're told ya brat!" The queen put her hands on her hips. The resemblance between the two was remarkable. The same spiky hair, wine-colored irises, and short fuse. Her voice had a sharp edge and was on the deeper side for a female. Just like her son's deep, smooth blade for a voice.
Katsuki sat up with snarl and glared daggers at his mother. "Fine...ya hag," With a sweep of his cape he was gone. Heavy hunter boots slamming against the castle floor. They truly loved each other though, it wasn't like them to express their mushy feelings outright.
The corridors to a newbie would be an endless maze, but the prince knew it like the back of his hand. Breathing slowly, he tried to calm himself down. He didn't like being reminded of how he was secretly a hopeless romantic. How he, deep down, had a weakness. Unfortunately, it was at times the only thing that called him down.
Images of sitting on his overly-sized bed with his mate in his lap. How he would play with their hair and whisper sweet nothings to them. Hold them from behind as they would drift off to sleep. Kiss and mark them as the took them to cloud nine and only feel pure pleasure in one another's arms. When the prince would lose his temper they would be there to calm him down and hold him. Stand beside him and release their calming, pleasing pheromones to make his shoulders slack and grimace disappear.
He felt better than before but the longing was soon to follow. All alone in his empty room that was too big for the desolate alpha. "Damn feelings," He cursed at himself. Poking at his chest as if it would make the bittersweet pain go away. He had a stupid event to get ready for. Not that he would change his attire. Just wash his face and sweaty palms, do a 'You got this" push up, and walk out the door back to his throne.
Sadly, he couldn't get this odd, new feeling out of his chest. It took a couple minutes to recognize but he realized it soon enough. It was a feeling of hope that it was gonna change that night. He was finally gonna meet his mate. If only that was true.

Izuku's POV:

The young boy's body was attacked with a violent quiver. He was standing in a huge crowd alongside his two best friends. The beta magic-user spoke out in glee, "I can't believe you're going to work in the same castle as us!" It was true that Uraraka tended to look on the bright side of things. Even when he there wasn't a bright side.
He spoke out with a crack in his tone, "I-i think I preferred working at the other castle. There I was safe and the heir wasn't a m-monster," His hands were close to his thrashing heart. It almost felt like he was in heat from the rising in his body temperature from all this anxiety. It could've been any kingdom to take over our land and it had to be this one?!
"Calm down," Iida spoke as softly as he could in the deafening crowd. The horde was a mix of fretful girls and boys and others were grinning in excitement at a chance to see the prince. "He's hot-headed but you're new. You're most likely gonna be put as a servant," The alpha gave the smaller a pat on the back comfortingly.
Izuku sighed knowing there was no way out of this. He would have to face his fear with his chin to the sky. The crowd lurched forward and the trio was being pulled through the castle gates. The omega felt like he was swimming upstream as he clawed backward as his last pitiful attempt at an escape.
Before he knew it, he was in a grand throne room being moved to the correct section. The beta and alpha were assured away from him and put into their proper places. The greenette felt alone and it was almost like he was going to die.
Maybe not a literal death, but that was a possibility. When he was sent to work in the castle his mother cried tears of sadness. They would only see one another for a measly day once a month. But they complied and he tried to give his signature reassuring grin. Confident and at ease. Inko knew it was a mask but it was convincing enough to let go of her son's hand.
The tears started to flow down his plump cheeks as he was seated next to the others that he would most likely work alongside in the near future. He closed his eyes tight to try and stop making a fool of himself. If Izuku thought hard enough he could convince himself he was back home in the forest. Skipping happily without a care in the world.
The dream was disrupted by a nimble hand touching his own. His eyes flew open to be met with a pink-skinned woman. Her yellow-black eyes looked at his with worry. Eyebrows furrowed as she rubbed comforting circles into his palm. "It's gonna be okay," She said coolly.
He stuttered trying to form a response. Instead, the girl giggled and shook her head softly. "No need to say anything. The name's Ashido, but I've got a feeling we'll become good friends so just call me Ash or Mina," The omega smiled warmly and the terror was washed away.
"Thank you. I really needed to hear that," He took his free hand to wipe away the remaining trace of tears. "You can call me Izuku," He wasn't one to freely give away his first name but he felt the same way she did. They were gonna get along.
"You worried about the prince?" The mention made the fear try and crawl its way back up his throat. He gripped her hand again and nodded quickly. "Same here. More anxious than scared though. There are so many rumors and I can't wait to see what's true and what's not!" She beamed at the smaller.
The boy could tell she was an alpha just by her aura. If that wasn't enough her pheromones she had given off to calm him down took the theory home. His mouth opened to reply, only to be interrupted by a blaring trumpet.
"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please?" The room went front ear-piercing to silent in a matter of seconds. "You'll be called out by name and faction to your assigned or upgraded position," The nobles at the front bowed their heads and the crowd whispered in confusion.
Turning their heads the tall, wooden doors of the room were opened by two servants and the king and queen themselves walked through in their best attire. Many followed suit and bowed their heads as the royals past.
Heavy boots were heard behind the couple. Izuku turned his head to the floor, too terrified to see what everyone was gasping at. Soon the stomping made its way to the third and smallest throne and only then did he lookup.

No one's POV:

Emerald orbs glanced up shyly to be met with a burning crimson gaze. The two sucked in breaths but each for a different reason. The smaller felt a mix of terror and awe. This was no monster! Instead, a handsome, arrogant prince sat before him. He couldn't lie that he was attractive.
The alpha, however, was starring in wonder and love. Something inside him had clicked into place. He knew that the small glowing jewel in the crowd of extras was his. The one he had been dreaming of ever since he could remember. His mate had finally arrived.
