Han Chen parked his Land Rover in the parking lot of a convenience store next to the gas station, get out of the car, then walked in. He hesitated for a while before he approached the cold drinks cabinet aside and took a bottle of Coke.

He'd got a hard-earned three-day holiday after the end of the last major case. He'd spent the first day sleeping at home, then went to Dragon City for a celebration party on the second day, and now was already his last day of holiday and he had to return home-from the party, yes, because he'd lost track of time. After partying all night and driving for several hours in a row, his spirit was somewhat unsupportable.

After he paid for the drink, Han Chen got out of the convenience store, drank his Coca-Cola in one go, then dropped the empty bottle into the trash can not far away. He leaned on his Land Rover, then lit a cigarette.

He noticed that a man was staring at him as if he was such a beautiful artwork, but he didn't say anything, he just finished smoking his cigarette in silence. Then the man talked to someone on the phone. Han Chen faintly heard that the man neither spoke in Chinese nor English. Just as Han Chen turned to get in the car, the man came towards him.

Han Chen narrowed his eyes. They were close enough to almost cross the polite distance between strangers.

"Can I get to know you?" The man said in a soft voice. Han Chen could see that the man actually looked very handsome. "Maybe it's a bit strange to say, but I love you at first sight."

"No," Han Chen answered coldly.

The man said nothing, just stood there and smiled, then stepped back and let Han Chen turn on his car. Han Chen launched his Land Rover and saw the man still look at him calmly through the window. He frowned, then stepped on the gas heavily and accelerated away from the gas station.

Han Chen looked in the rearview mirror and saw that the man was still standing there, and his gaze was still fixed on him. Han Chen sneered, tossed out the strange thoughts in his heart, and slammed the steering wheel to the left.

He was just a passerby, Han Chen thought, and they would never even meet again in the future. So, he could leave the man directly—then nothing bad would happen after that.

Unfortunately, he didn't do that.

The tires rubbed against the ground when he turned back, emitting white smoke and making a sharp noise. Han Chen got out of the car, and the man walked towards him with a smile.

"My name is Jing Ran and I'm an ordinary designer. Will you go on a date with me?"

Three years later.

Bai Jinxi cleared her throat then cast a meaningful glance at Han Chen. "Your phone is ringing."

Han Chen nodded, picked up his phone and walked into his office. After closing the door, he looked down at the phone screen. The call was from an unknown number. Han Chen smiled slightly and held the phone to his ear. "Hey."

"I miss you, Chenchen."

The voice was as gentle as ever, and Han Chen thought hard to distinguish the background sound from the phone call. The background was very noisy, maybe it's a shopping mall or— "Han Chen, don't bother to find me, I can't meet you right now."
