7:40AM flashed across my phone, the brightness blinding me slightly. The cold air instantly hitting me once I climbed out of my bed.

Ugh.

I took a quick shower that I wished never ended, and rummaged through my wardrobe.
Today I want to fit in more. I have to wear something that Imogen wears, or atleast similar. I came across a pair of ripped black jeans and a loose grey v neck. Close enough, I shrugged.

I attempted to make myself as decent as possible. I even decided to do a simple wing with my eyeliner to make my icy blue eyes stand out more. it roughly took me 30 minutes to get ready. I glanced out the window to see the sky perfectly lined with clouds, the snowflakes peacefully falling out of the frozen air.

I loved winter, but I also hated it. I loved snuggling into my sheets every night to keep my warmth, but I hated when my feet got cold. I love the beautiful view from my window every time I wake up. But I hate getting colds and constantly fidgeting to keep myself warm.

I wandered downstairs and grabbed a cereal bar and slowly ate it, savouring every bite I took. I brushed my teeth and grabbed my coat and keys only to be interrupted by a knock at my door.

I opened the door, the cold air hitting me instantly. It was Ashton. "hurry up Em, it's freezing!" He breathed and a cloud of warm air flowed out of his mouth. I instantly admired his messy hair tucked into his grey beanie. I stepped out of the door and locked it behind me, Ashton didn't move. He just stood there staring down at me, his caramel eyes catching me off guard. I couldn't help but glance down at my feet and blush. Ive never been this close to an attractive boy before. "Let's go."His hot minty breath blew in my face, his icy hand grasping mine suddenly, dragging me towards the car. "Fuck your hands are warm."His grasp tightened, his hand transferring the coldness onto mine.

We both got into the car, the warmth was comforting. He began to drive and a unfamiliar song began to play. Ashton instantly started to tap his long fingers against the wheel. "Do you not know this song?!"He looked over and seemed confused. I simply shook my head and sunk down into my seat slightly, embarrassed at being so clueless. "Its Green Day. It's called Boulevard of broken dreams."He looked at me, not breaking contact for a while until he concentrated back on the road. "Oh yeah. That's Imogen's favourite song, she always sings it in Art." I finally remembered the tune and unwillingly smiled.

The rest of the car journey was silent. It was a peaceful silent. The only noise that was present was the low tune of Green Day in the background.
