Seeing him standing there, she noticed how nicely dressed he had been. He was wearing a black Polo shirt with tan Khaki pants and black sneakers. Also, while working her way up to his face, she realized Katy had been right. He was gorgeous!

He was tall, about six foot two or six foot three. He was also muscular but not bulky. His hair was sandy brown which was neatly cut and styled with gel. His face reminded her of what she thought an angel would look like, but what really got her attention was his eyes. His eyes ere hazel with blue and green flex in them. They were the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen.

She couldn't help but to wonder what was wrong with her. She had never felt this way before. Taking him in as he stood there before her, she felt like she was drawn to him. His presence made her feel stranger but she couldn't explain it. She stared at him, for what seemed like forever, getting lost in his eyes. She didn't know why but there was something about those eyes that made her feel like she was staring into his soul.

“Hello. It's nice to meet you.” Darren said breaking the trance he seemed to have on her.

“It- it's nice to meet you too.” she replied, trying to find her voice. “I'm Amelia.”

He smiled and took her hand into his, “and I am Darren.” he said, then placed a small kiss on the back of the hand he held. Her face began turning red and grew more red when she realized that Katy and Kevin had been watching their every move. He gently released her hand, as he noticed her looking down, and pulled out a chair for her. She took a seat as Kevin and Katy began the conversation.

He found it difficult to focus on what the others were discussing. His mind was only thinking about this strange girl sitting only inches from him. She was completely different from any human he had ever met before. It was so odd, the way she looked into his eyes, like she was searching for something. Most humans avoid eye contact with any vampire, probably because vampires are naturally intimidating, but her eyes stayed engaged in his. He was very curious now.

She had noticed him looking at her and began blushing. She really was quite beautiful. She had long, straight, dark blonde hair that seemed to just flow off of her shoulders. She was a good foot shorter than he was. Her body was thin but with very attractive curves in all of the right places. She had luscious full lips. Her skin was pale but had this glow to it and her eyes were a beautiful bright green. He didn't want to admit it but he found his self slightly attracted to her, which made him a little sick at his stomach.

What was really strange though, was her scent. Most humans smell like apples with a hint of lilies. Some scents are stronger, some smell sweeter, and some smell more sour, but they are generally the same. She smelt of something different. Her scent was like vanilla and honeysuckles. It was intoxicating but not to where he wanted to drink from her. This made him a little uneasy but he knew there was no reason for concern. Anyone could tell she was only human.

“So what do you think?” Kevin asked looking at him. He was so into his thoughts, he hadn't heard a word of the conversation.

“I'm sorry. What was the question?” Darren replied, tearing his gaze away from Amelia.

“I was thinking we could all go on a camping trip two weekends from now. If you're down.” Kevin said again with an exasperated look.

“Why not. I haven't been on a camping trip in years.” he replied with a half smile.

“Good! Now the only person left to convince is you Amelia.” Kevin looked across the table and over to her. “What do you say?”

She looked down at her hands before looking at Katy, who was giving her the puppy dog face. She sighed and then said, “as long as I'm back before my class on Monday.” Katy grinned ear to ear and Kevin shouted “AWESOME!!” over enthusiastically. Amelia hated camping but her friends were so excited, she didn't want to upset them. She sat there playing with her food as Kevin and Katy began planning the trip together.
