. . . SYNOPSIS . . .
" Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. "
— George Santayana

Fourteen years have passed since the belated Pandoran War or, as the Na'vi called it, the Time of Great Sorrow. After suffering considerable losses, on and off the battlefield, the RDA had been defeated, and the remaining sky people — save the few who were loyal to the Omatikaya — were shipped back to their home planet. And peace had flourished throughout the moon's clans once more.

Sadly, that tranquility was short-lived . . . the sky people could not be subdued for long.

From the moment their ship landed on Earth, scientists had once again embarked on a seven- year-long program, planning their return. Only this time, their numbers had increased, and several billion dollars were spent on new and improved machinery. The RDA was primed to reign a new wave of terror onto Pandora's inhabitants.

Coincidently, Sutton Ardmore or Nix — as everyone liked to call her — was fourteen when her mother, General Ardmore, put her into cryosleep on one of the ten starships sent off to Pandora.

Nix was the only child of the general, who'd become a single parent when her husband, Sergeant Ardmore, died during the never-ending war on Earth. Because Nix was too young to live on her own, the general utilized her high position to secure a place for her daughter, granting her safe passage on their voyage to Pandora.

Growing up, Nix had always been a tenderhearted child — or as her mother described her, meekly. She was one of the ones who favored animals over people, always off in her own world, spending most days learning what she could about the flora and fauna of North America. She even wanted to be a zoologist, but unfortunately most species on Earth were becoming extinct.

General Ardmore promised a better life for her on Pandora — that Nix could study all the wildlife the planet had to offer as long as there was a marine by her side, safeguarding her.

The minute she was woken from cryosleep, orders were spewed at her to stay far away from the "blue people" as the SecOps liked to call them. They are savages, her mother said, bow-wielding savages.

All those warnings were enough to frighten Nix. She refused to leave the ship for three days after that.

However, when she finally gathered enough courage to step outside with an air-mask on, she assumed she'd be welcomed by green forests and prospering wildlife. Instead, there were miles of flat, barren land, smoldering trees, and hundreds of deceased animals that had succumbed to the fire caused by the powerful engines during the starships' descent.
