Your mother was on that same boat with Lisa Lisa, the same boat that went into flames with your grandfather, Dio Brando. Knowing that Dio was a vampire, making you having the same monster-like blood flowing through your veins. Erina decided to adopt your mother and take care of her, Lisa Lisa and George Joestar. Your mother became good friends with Lisa Lisa, they grew up together and lived a long, happy childhood.
In a quick context, your mother died leaving you a lonely orphan with no mother. Nobody wanted to adopt you. I mean, who would want to adopt a sunlight allergic fanged creature like me? You can't even walk outside without having to put a whole bottle of sunscreen. And god knows how bad it smells when you put just a bit of sunscreen, imagine a bunch load.
Since nobody wanted you, Lisa Lisa took you in as a student of hers. You grew up alone, no friends or anybody who wanted to hang out with a freak like you. The only friend you had, was the beautiful patch of sunflowers and Suzie Q. That is, until a blonde new student arrives~
