(Ashton)
I was so focused on playing the drums that I didn't notice the girl watching me.
Confused I walked over to her.
"Hey?" I said wondering why she was here.
"Urm, hey, you're good at drumming." she muttered nervously as the blood flushed to her cheeks.
"Thanks, although I much prefer playing the guitar." I replied.
She smiled, and may I say, it was quite a cute smile.
"I'm diamond, I'm new here." she said as she reached out to shake my hand.
"Ashton, also new here." I answered plainly.
"Do you play anything else other than the drums and guitar?" she asked.
"No not unless you count singing as an instrument." I replied chuckling lightly.
She smiled up at me, her deep brown sparkling.
"What do you play?" I asked, smiling slightly.
"I don't really, I sing." she answered looking at the floor, her shyness showing.
"well because you have heard me playing the drums can I please hear you sing?" I said, tilting my head and smiling at her.
"Okay what song?"
"any I honestly don't mind." I replied,
"Okay." she said, as she started scrolling through her phone.
A big smile appeared and her whole face lit up.
"perfect." she whispered, more to herself than me.
She took a deep breath and started singing.
We were both young when I first saw you.
I close my eyes and the flashback starts:
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air.
See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns.
See you make your way through the crowd
And say, "Hello, "
Little did I know...
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles,
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet"
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you, "Please don't go"
And I said...
"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all that's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story, baby, just say, 'Yes...
Suddenly the door swung open and in strode an old elegant woman probably in her mid 50s.
"What are you doing in here this is private!" she exclaimed.
I just stood there dumbstruck staring wide eyed at Diamond her voice was like a... I can't even describe it it's just...wow, pure perfection.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't realise I'm new here, I must have come to the wrong room." Diamond mumbled, snapping me out of my daze.
"And what about you." the lady turned to me.
"I,um." I stuttered, still lost for words.
"Well I'm waiting" the lady snapped, tapping her food impatiently, one eyebrow raised.
Before I could speak Diamond calmly spoke out,
"He came in here to tell me that this room was supposed to be private."
"Hhm, very well then I'll let you off this time, now you go!"
"Thank you, come on Aston." diamond said as she grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the door
