Day Two

The egg yolk sun poured through the cracks in the thick and heavy curtains and awaited entrance into (Y/N)'s closed eyes.

In a sharp breath, (Y/N) rose from her slumber as if she was awoken by a sharp dagger being pointed at the crook of her neck. No sleepiness, no slow warming up— within seconds of realizing that she was finally conscious, she is on her feet and eyes wide. She stumbles forward upon her feet touching the cold hard floor as her ankles cracked, her chest burning as she feels something rattling inside of her.

Aside from her own noisy breath, there is nothing to be heard... she looks around, seeing the bed she was laying on. Her eyes studied the white stone that glistened in this summer sun and the ceiling covered with gold and a small chandelier.

(Y/N) tried to stand up again, but all of her breath left her body, leaving her gasping for air like a fish out of water. As she took another breath, a sharp pain erupted from her chest. Confused, she tried again and this time, she could not hold back the scream that is accompanied by the searing pain in her chest.

This feeling is new... pain feels new to her.

"My lady!" A woman from behind her yelled, rushing towards (Y/N) as she fell onto the ground, wailing, crying. "You shouldn't be out of bed, your wounds aren't healed—"

"Wounds?" (Y/N) questioned.

'What are these?'

(Y/N) looks down at her bandaged torso, seeing spots seeping through the fabric, glowing in dark red.

"Come on now, my lady. Let's get you back to bed," she says, helping (Y/N) up from the ground and to her bed.

"Where am I—augh!" (Y/N) winces. "W-what happened to me?"

"My lady, I know that you are confused and have a lot of questions, but right now, I must go to the royal physician and inform him that your wounds are getting worse," the handmaiden carefully unwraps the bloodied bandages and reapplied them with new ones to avoid infections.

"Will you at least tell me your name?"

The handmaiden softly smiles. Years that she have spent in this castle tending men and women, none of them asked her name since they were too much in pain to talk or they simply didn't care about her since she was just a servant. Well now, staring at (Y/N), the girl who was rushed in by the princes of this kingdom, suffering from broken ribs and multiple punctured wounds, had the decency to ask her name.

"My name is Park Ji Hyo, my lady."

"Oh like the stars?"

"What do you mean?" Jihyo raises her eyebrows.

"Well Ji Hyo means beautiful stars," (Y/N) giggles, catching the handmaiden off guard.

"R-right," Jihyo looks away to contain her burning cheeks.

Jihyo look towards (Y/N)'s direction once she had gain back her composure, finally seeing this mysterious girl's perfect (h/c) hair that rested right above her shoulders and rich (e/c) eyes that could swallow galaxies. Jihyo admires her flawless skin that looked so fragile and soft— Jihyo wondered, so this is what (Y/N) looks like when her face isn't swollen; (Y/N) is the definition of a goddess that fell from the sky.

"Well I'll take my leave now," Jihyo grabbed her belongings. "The royal physician's room is just a few doors away from yours, I'll be quick."

"Oh what's his name?" (Y/N) asks nonchalantly.

"Kang Daniel, my lady." Jihyo answered with a few specks of red staining her cheeks. "I'll be right back."

Before (Y/N) could protest, the door quickly shut as Jihyo left to get Daniel.
