Day 5

As the daylight dwindled and the sun sank down below the mountains, the tension in Jungkook grew. He'd been waiting ever since lunch to receive (Y/N)'s meal, but midnight just past and there was still no news to be heard about her or Taehyung approaching the castle.

"Where is she?" Jungkook asked no one in particular as he slumped his forehead against the table top. The prince heaved a tired and heavy sigh, sulking from his maiden's disappearance. His stomach grumbled, reminding him he haven't ate a decent meal this whole entire day. "She's coming soon tummy. Hold your noises of complaints for now please..."

What was the reason why Taehyung took (Y/N)? And why did she agree?

Was Jungkook not important enough for (Y/N) that she would easily forget about him for another man?

Jungkook's stomach growled again.

He shook his head, belittling himself for being a crybaby. But he couldn't help it. The dark golden haired prince ached for a meal made from the heart as he reminisced the days of his mother when she was still alive... when she would wake up early in the morning to cook for her children despite the king's and castle chef's objections that no queen shall do labour to produce her own meal.

Did the queen listen to them?

No she didn't.

Jungkook's mother showed them the palm and said that if they were to speak or question her actions again, the king can sleep at a different bed and the castle chefs should find another place to work. No one in their right mind stopped the queen ever again from cooking loving meals for her own family.

And Jungkook admired that from his mother. Her determination and strength... but Jungkook's brother, Jimin, admired everything about their mother past beyond those. Jimin saw the sides of the queen that wasn't acceptable to their time; she was intelligent, cunning, and perfect to surpass the king. Since Jimin wasn't as strong or as gifted as Jungkook with the swords... the king didn't favor the eldest son.

The Middle Kingdom is known for their weaponry and strengths— Jimin was none of those things, Jungkook was.

Instead of the youngest being compared to the eldest, it was the complete opposite. The silver headed prince would hear the banters of his father, constantly reminding him of why Jungkook couldn't be the first born or how weak and incapable he was to rule the kingdom.

Jimin leaned towards the tactical things— the most important thing to win any wars. No matter how much men you have, if they only know how to fight with their muscles without their brains, death is their only fate. But why would the king of the Middle Kingdom listen when all he cares about is the brawn and not the brains? Well his mother listened. She gave him warmth and commendation for his wits. Every now and then, the queen would teach subjects to Jimin the king would never approve off because it would be deemed as useless.

Jungkook can never forget how much his brother grieved for their mother's death.

'No bad memories! Get those away from me!' Jungkook grumbled, shaking off the memories that were no longer is use for him. What matters now is now. And right now, (Y/N) is not with him enjoying meals, talking, and spending quality times together.

The prince stood up from his seat to fill the kettle to make tea he had no intention of drinking and kept his eyes darting to the kitchen that refused to open. The prince wandered around the room, looking for cutting boards, knives, pots, and ingredients. Though Jungkook spent most his time with his father, the king, he did have special moments with his mother where they cooked together— creating outrageous meals that would turn out amazing.
