'6 weeks?? That's how long my ribs are going to heal?!'

Daniel explained to her thoroughly that three of her ribs were in fact broken hence her persistence symptoms of chest aching when inhaling deeply. (Y/N) cannot run nor do any heavy physical activities, which was no problem to her, but being finally free from captivation, (Y/N) wanted to do so many things. She wanted to travel, to go swim freely in a pool of water, run through fields of flowers, but no... she has to be patient and let her ribs heal or it can puncture one of her major organs.

(Y/N) looks at her ceiling, reevaluating the events she went through so far in the day. The female let out a small chuckle, remembering her little encounter with the young king earlier.

He was odd, but the good kind of odd.

He acted in a way that made her flustered, that made her stand on her tippy toes when his hands were around her waist and the way he explained to her what falling in love feels like... how it's like a tune in your head that you can't get out off...

She wonders if she'll ever feel that way towards someone.

(Y/N) bit her lips, her mind moving to another topic that's been bugging her.

How did she end up here?

More importantly, how did she get out?

The only thing she can recall that yesterday was the Night of The Black Swan, a month long festival that only happens once every seven years... it is the night where the priests begin to perform rituals to keep the barrier that holds the Black Swan from entering any of the seven kingdoms. Legend says that the Black Swan was banished away into an island where the sky vanishes, almost completely as only a few fragments of them remain— like scattered pieces of a perplexing puzzle. The air is profuse with the fragrance of leaves and flowers, all damp too. It rained constantly, even so many hours after the rains have passed, the soil remains wet, slowly releasing its heady fog where the Black Swan had no protection from other than the leaves of the trees.

The drops from the rain continuously hitting the Black Swan dampens her feathers, not letting her fly away from the island, and to make matters worse, the chants and curses from the priests and people drains her energy to the point where all of her powers disappeared.

The only time she could gain her powers is much like how the other gods gain theirs: when someone worships or speaks good of them. But they have to be near enough for her to hear and believe enough to give her strength.

"I shouldn't be thinking of this," (Y/N) shakes her head to distinguish her thoughts. "I'm free and that's what matters... but... but who could it be? That one single voice that freed me?"

Jihyo enters her room, snapping the female out of her dazed state. "My lady, Daniel ordered me to take you on a walk. You still need a little bit of your daily exercise and not sit all day. It's unhealthy, he said."

"Alright," (Y/N) nodded her head in compliance.

(Y/N) slipped her shoes on and linked her arms with Jihyo for support.

"My lady—"

"(Y/N), just (Y/N), Jihyo. I am not part of any the royalty here so you're not obligated to call 'my lady'."

"Understood (Y/N)," Jihyo smiles, finally hearing her patient's name. '(Y/N)...' she thought. 'What a pretty name.'

"Where are we going?"

"To the palatial garden, (Y/N). The other handmaidens informed me that the flowers have bloomed, the trees are green, and the fruits are ripe. We can go eat there since you haven't gotten a decent meal. Fresh meals are always the best!" Jihyo jumps a little— she hasn't felt like this in a while; there was always wonder and excitement inside of the handmaiden but never had the time nor the energy to express it as there were always work being handed down by her superiors. But now that she was assigned to watch (Y/N), she has so much free time!
