Chapter 16

*That weekend*

Y/N'S POV

"Sweetie the girls are here to pick you up. Are you ready?" I hear my mom ask from downstairs

Today we are going to the amusement park and I'm a little nervous

Lauren and I, with the girls obviously, will spend the day together and knowing Dinah she'll try to find every sort of excuse to leave the two of us alone

Let's hope everything goes well

"Yeah I'm ready mum" I say putting on my jacket

I go downstairs and see my mom and Michelle talking

"There you go. Come on let's hurry up, Dinah's impatient" the green eyed girl says before taking my hand in hers

"Have fun girls, say hi to the others for me"

We reach the car and Michelle goes to the driver seat while I look for an available spot

I see Ally on the passenger seat and Dinah, Normani and Lauren seating in the back

"Unfortunately for you there's no free seat Y/n, you'll have to settle yourself on Lauren's lap" the Polynesian girl says

I look at Lauren blushing

"Why can't I sit on yours or Normani's lap?" I try asking them

"Because I already decided, now move your cute butt and enter this car because I want to go to the amusement park" she replies

Having no choice I open the car door and sit on Lauren's lap

Michelle starts the car and our journey towards the amusement park, which will take approximately an hour, begins

As soon as we hit the road Normani takes the aux cord and starts playing some Beyoncè

I look outside the car window to enjoy the view when I feel Lauren's arms wrap around my waist and her breath tickling my ear

"Isn't that my leather jacket baby girl?" she whispers

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that this jacket was actually hers

"I-it's not what you think"

She just smirks and pulls me closer to her

This is going to be a long car ride

(At the amusement park)

"Okay I'm gonna take tickets for all of us, wait for me here" Ally says

As soon as we have the tickets we enter the amusement park and see all types of rides and games

We're going to have a lot of fun today

"Let's start with the rollercoaster" Dinah suggests

To be honest I'm not a big fan of rollercoasters but I don't want the girls to call me a scaredy cat so I'll join them on the ride

I "casually", keyword casually, end up next to Lauren

The ride starts and without noticing it I start shaking up a bit and I grip Lauren's hand tightly

She puts her other hand under my chin and turns my face towards her direction

I'm now looking at her and I see that she's smiling at me before saying

"Don't be scared, nothing's gonna happen while you're with me"

I blush at her words and decide to give her a smile in return

(A few hours later)

LAUREN'S POV

We went on every ride and played every game that they have here and now it's time for me to get into action

I give the girls the signal we choose a few days ago and they start making up excuses to leave us alone

When it's just the two of us I take Y/n's hand in mine and intertwine our fingers as we start walking

"Do you want to go on the Ferris wheel?" I ask her

"Aren't you afraid of heights Ms Jauregui?" she asks me back

"Stop with your little attitude and come with me" I say smiling

We reach the Ferris wheel and wait in line for our turn

A few minutes later we're inside the little cabin and we start moving

I take my phone out and send a message to Michelle to ask if everything is going as planned

She sends me a thumb up a few seconds later and I smile to myself thinking about what's going to happen once we reach the top

When we are on top the attraction, as planned, stops working and Y/n looks at me not knowing what it's happening

"Hey it's all fine, just look outside"

She does just that and the fireworks start

I see her smiling and I smile too, taking her hands in mine

"Baby girl I miss you so much" I start saying

"This past month I've been a mess. When you left me because you thought I kissed Jessica my heart broke into a million pieces and, after kicking her out of my house, I cried myself to sleep thinking about the fact that I could have lost you forever" I add almost tearing up

"Thankfully the truth came out and you know that I didn't do anything but something is still missing. I don't want you in my life as a simple friend, I want you as my girlfriend, as my partner, as the love of my life. What I'm trying to say is that...I love you Y/n, I love you so much" I end my speech

She looks at me with tears in her eyes and before I can even react I feel her lips on mine

I pull her on my lap and we start a heated make out session that lasts a few minutes

When we pull away Y/n looks at me and says

"I love you too"

After our confession we smile at each other, I text the girls to tell them that it all went well and the Ferris wheel starts moving again

"It was a plan right? Like, coming here at the amusement park, going to the Ferris wheel, the attraction stopping at the top, the fireworks etc" she asks me

"Maybe, maybe not" I reply vaguely

"Do you want to be my girlfriend again?" I ask soon after

Y/n looks at me and smiles

"Yes, I want to be your girlfriend again"

I smile too and pull her into another kiss

This is the best day ever
