I don't own anything. Have fun reading!
Keith and Lance spent most of the morning in the park. Around noon, a bunch of kids started to pop up everywhere, making Keith uncomfortable. Not soon after a little girl ran up to him holding a flower, wanting to put it in Kieths' hair, did they leave. Lance showed him a little coffee shop in town, that Keith had never seen before.
They talked about what they had been doing for the past two weeks, drinking the coffee they had gotten. Well, it was mostly Lance. Keith didn't really talk about what he was doing, because it consisted of reading books and drawing. But Lance had done so much, helping his parents with their farm, helping neighbors, baby-sit kids. The list was endless, and Keiths' looked so pathetic compared to it.
"So what have you done these past few weeks?" Lance asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Nothing much." Keith said flatly. He finally looked around the room they were in, noticing a 'NOW HIRING' poster.
"Keith," Lances' whine made Keith look at him. "You had to do something."
"Not really. I just read some books, and filled in some drawing notebooks." Keith tore his eyes from the cuban, back of the poster.
Lance followed his gaze, looking at the poster. "Looking for a job?" He asked, looking back at Keith.
Keith choked on his coffee, looking at Lance. He hadn't told anyone that he was looking for a job, not even Shiro and Adam. "Um . . ."
"That's really cool." Lance said, cleaning up some coffee that was on the table. "I was going to start looking next week. It's cool you have an early start." Lance smiled at Keith, making his heart flutter.
"Don't tell Shiro," Keith paused, whipping up his mouth. "Or Adam." He said shortly after, making Lance giggle. "They said if I had a money problem, to ask them."
"I won't tell them." Lance gave him a reassuring smile.
"Thank you. I don't want to worry them."
"Did you know they're offering jobs at the Garrison to Paladins of Voltron?" Lance said, taking a sip from his coffee.
Keiths' eyes focused on Lances' smile, which he couldn't look away from. "No, I had no clue." Keith tried to refocus on his coffee, but Lance's smile kept drawing him back. "But I'm not a good teacher." Keith said after a long pause, and finally taking a sip of his coffee.
"You do have a point there." Lance said, chuckling to himself. "They offered it to Pidge, but they refused. Hunk, on the other hand, said yes, but only if he could run a cooking club."
"Sounds like Hunk. I didn't know he had a job."
"Yeah, can you believe it? Hunk and Shiro working at the Garrison. I'm thinking about joining them. The Garrison asked me about 2 days ago." Lance took a drink, but when Keith didn't say anything, he looked worried. "Are you ok Keith?"
Keith looked down at his empty cup, wishing there was more to drink. "Shiro didn't tell me he was going to work at the Garrison." They sat there in silence for a few minutes, when a waitress dropped off their check.
"I'm sorry. I thought he told you." Lance started towards the check, but Keith grabbed it first. "I was going to pay for that!" Lance said in a playful tone.
"Well you should have been faster." Keith smiled, and pulled out $10. The waitress had dropped another paper on the table, which had a phone number.
"Oooo, they waitress is interested in Mullet." Lance took the paper, looking at the number. "And it's real."
"I'm not interested, and stop calling me that." Keith smiled and stood up.
"Come on, she was cute!" Lance followed him out.
"She's not my type." Lance rolled his eyes as Keith walked over to his motorcycle. "Where to next?"
