As soon as Alex had stopped the car, the three of them had gotten out only for Molly to be tackled into a hug by Jonathan. "Molly, are you alright!? Are you hurt!? Is the baby OK!?" asked Jonathan. "Dad, we're fine! Quit getting on me like your a mother hen or something!" groaned Molly as the baby inside her began to kick probably out of annoyance from being jostled around. "Next time you decide to do that, give us a warning so we can get Amber to safety ahead of time so she doesn't accidentally get hurt." said Rick glaring at his niece. "You never complained about me kicking undead ass before." said Molly quirking an eyebrow. "You never had a kid back then." replied Rick. "Kids!" corrected Jonathan pointing to Molly's stomach. "Not here yet so it doesn't count yet." said Rick flicking the back of his brother-in-law's head. "Ow! Meanie!" whined Jonathan. "How is Amber by the way, is she alright?" asked Molly slightly worried about her eldest. "Well, you gave her quite a scare going after the Dragon Emperor like that to be honest." said Jonathan. "Where is is she?" asked Molly. "She's back at the local bar with your aunt and Imhotep." said Rick. "You let my daughter into a bar?" asked Molly feeling her eye twitch. "Told you it was a bad idea." said Jonathan hiding behind Rick. "Now, Molly, we had to get them to safety so we could come after you..." explained Rick backing away slowly as Molly's eyes turned black and she cracked her neck. "Dad, Uncle Jon, you might want to run." said Alex. "I'm already ahead of your Dad on that, Alex!" called Jonathan fleeing for his life. "I never seen one whose posses as much power as your cousin before." stated Lin watching as Rick tried to hold Molly back with a pole the had been knocked over on one of the tents during all the chaos. Oh, and Jonathan was screaming his head off at Rick to mind the baby. "Would you believe it if I said one of my uncles placed an ancient and dark god inside of her and that's why she's able to do this stuff." asked Alex with an amused smile. After all, it was kinda funny to see his Dad and uncle a target of her guardian for once. 'So that is how she was able to match the strength of the Dragon Emperor so easily.' thought Lin to herself as she watched Molly yank the pole of the Rick's hand and take a hard swing to him. Luckily, Rick ducked just in time. "Hey, bad guardian! We're on your side remember!?" yelled Rick. "Should we help them?" asked Lin. Alex shook his head. "Trust me, you don't want to be on the wrong side of my cousin when her protector takes over." Let's just say....neither Jonathan nor Rick got away unscathed by Anubis.
About an hour later, Alex and Lin were helping a very badly bruised and bleeding Rick and Jonathan into the bar where Evie, Imhotep, and Amber were waiting. "Rick, Jonathan, what happened to you two!?" asked Evie rushing over to her husband and brother in concern. "Guardian." replied the two in union. "I hate you so for possessing my daughter with that thing in the first place, I hope you know that." groaned Jonathan as he sat down at one of the tables glaring at Imhotep. "I've felt the guardian's strength and power on more than one occasion in case you've forgotten." said Imhotep with a slightly amused look. Hey, at least it wasn't him for once! "Well, what did you two do to anger it so badly?" asked Evie. "I told Molly we brought Amber to a bar with you and Imhotep." said Rick groaning in pain as Evie dabbed some of the blood on his head away. "Rick, she's nine months pregnant, you know she's going to have mood swings." said Evie. "Yeah, well I think her moods swings broke one of my ribs." groaned Rick wincing in pain as he moved slightly. "Where is Molly anyway?" asked Evie looking around but found no sign of her niece. "Bathroom." said Alex. "Grandpa?" asked Amber approaching Jonathan who was stuffing napkin into his bloody nose. "Yes, love?" asked Jonathan who needed a drink more than anything right now to dull the pain he was feeling. "What did you and great uncle Rick mean by a guardian?" asked Amber tilting her head. OK, now Jonathan needed a drink for TWO reasons not just one. "Ah...well, Amber...you see the thing with your mum is....ah....Imhotep, you get over here and explain it to her!" yelled Jonathan. Imhotep had basically shot Jonathan a 'do you really think I'm about to be the guardian's target once again after twelve years? I think not!' look. "Some help you are!" retorted Jonathan. "Whose some help, Dad?" asked Molly walking into the room carrying her shoes in one hand because her feet were practically the size of mini beach balls. "Mother!" yelled Amber whose eyes lit up seeing her mom was OK and not so scary looking anymore. "Amber, thank god you got out of the museum safely." said Molly sighed with relief before sitting down in the closet seat by her so she could get off her feet which were KILLING her. "Mother, you're OK!" yelled Amber holding onto her mother for dear life. "Well, now, what's got you so worried about my well being all of a sudden?" asked Molly gently stroking her daughter's hair. "Back at the museum.....you weren't yourself. What happened, Mother? Surely the baby couldn't have given you so much strength. It was like you weren't even human." said Amber looking up at her mother with glassy eyes. Molly blinked back her shock seeing her daughter like this. Normally Amber was either so stock and uptight like her dad was when she first met him or always one to pull a joke on someone whether it was one of her grandfathers or her great uncle. She never had tears in her eyes save for when she was a baby but that was about it. Molly frowned before pulling Amber onto her lap as best as she could due to her stomach. "Amber, I think its time you knew about my secret." said Molly gently. "What secret?" asked Amber. Molly sighed. "Well, you remember back in the car on the way here how everyone told you that my eyes changed color because of the baby?" Amber nodded. "The truth is....your sibling had nothing to do with it." said Molly. "They didn't?" asked Amber. Molly shook her head. "Remember when you were six and you asked me to tell you why Grandfather always refers to me as Aahmas and I told you it was because I was her reincarnation?" asked Molly. Amber nodded. "Well, sweetie, back when Aahmas was about a year old, your grandfather had taken her to a temple a placed a guardian inside of her." said Molly. "A guardian?" asked Amber tilting her head. Molly nodded. "This guardian was placed inside of Aahmas to protect her from any sort of danger she might've encountered in case something happened to your grandfather. And when I was eighteen years old I found out that because I'm Aahmas' reincarnation, the guardian had placed itself inside of me to do the exact same job it was summoned for with Aahmas over 3000 years ago." said Molly making sure she explained it to Amber in the easiest way possible for a nine year old. "So, your eyes really did turn black?" asked Amber. Molly nodded. "Unfortunately when that happens its your mom's 'little friend' as we call him coming through your mother." said Rick. "So back at the museum with the Dragon Emperor, that was the guardian coming through you and protecting you and the baby?" asked Amber. "It wasn't just me, Amber, he was protecting everyone, including you." said Molly tapping her daughter's nose lightly. "He knows who I am?" asked Amber with wide eyes. Molly laughed. "Of course he does. He's been watching over you just has he has been with me and he'll do the same with your brother or sister when they arrive." "Please be a boy, please be a boy!" groaned Jonathan taking a swing of his drink. "Oh shut up, Dad!" yelled Molly throwing one of her shoes at her father.
