*Adrien's POV*
"We gather here today to say goodbye to a dear mother, and a faithful wife. We're here to depart Emilie Agreste. May she rest in peace. Blah blah blah blah for she blah blaH......", I hear in and out as I sit on the cold church bench. I still can't believe she's gone, I don't want to believe she's gone... I want to go home and see her standing there with her arms open wide for a hug. I feel a tear fall down my cheek, ever so slowly and I close my eyes. I hear small noises coming out of me as I cry. Oh god, I'm crying in the middle of the pastor's speech. I open my eyes, but surprisingly no one looks at me, except my father. Why does he look angry? He whispers coldly in my ear, "Stop crying. What would you're mother think to see you crying like this?" I feel my eyes widen and the tears stop streaming down my face. "W-w-what?", I ask. "Be quiet, boy." My father's sudden coldness startles me. I decide to stay quiet and look at my mother's portrait, smiling at me.
The rest of the day drags on and on. The whole time, my father looks either angry or sad. I wish he'd comfort me...(Author's Note)
