Infinite Mischief (RWBY x Male Reader Volume 4)

Chapter 1

(3rd Person)

What most people should realise is that... when you're on the way to another continent of the planet, you're bound to run into terrain that would take days to traverse... in the case of the newly formed group which consisted of three females and one troublesome male who couldn't sit still... which is how we came to this morning's situation when Winter woke up to find (Y/N) wasn't in his sleeping bag.

Winter: Wake up! Cinder Fall wake your ass up now!!

Cinder: Ugh... piss off... let me sleep some more...

Winter: You shouldn't be sleeping! You should be helping me with (Y/N)!!

Cinder: I thought it was Neo's turn to feed him the brownies you made...

Winter: Not that you dolt! He's missing! Neo too!!

Immediately, the red-dressed woman shot out of bed, her eyes wide with fear and confusion as she shot her attention to the empty sleeping bag.

Cinder: Shit!!! Where's the boy gone now!?

Without another word, the two set off in the same direction... well... apart from the words that began when they realised they were going in the same direction, naturally they began to bicker saying the other should go the other way. They ran through the trees, occasionally swatting bugs and branches as they attempted to look for the troublemaker. Suddenly, they stopped as they heard growling. They spun around to find themselves surrounded by a group of red eyes hiding in the trees and bushes which no doubt were Grimm.

Winter: Great... just great, well done attracting them with that loud voice of yours!

Cinder: My voice!? It was obviously you who brought them here!

The continued to bicker, and even though their eyes were baring into each other, they effortlessly dodged and attacked the Grimm back even while bickering as Winter used her rapier and semblance while Cinder used her new maiden abilities, mostly burning the Grimm in front of her while shouting at Winter.

Cinder: It's not my fault you can't keep an eye on (Y/N)!! If he were under my supervision, he would be right back at camp!!

Winter: That's funny, but Neo is one of your subordinates! So if you can't look after a subordinate, how could you look after (Y/N)!!

Cinder: Oh, let me tell you, I care more about (Y/N) than Neo!

Winter: And I care more about (Y/N) than you should!

Cinder: He would prefer someone who could use their powers to keep him warm anytime he wished!

Winter: No! He wants someone capable in combat! I'm Ironwood's most capable soldier, so no doubt I'm the best choice!

Cinder: Shouldn't that mean you should be with Ironwood!? Not (Y/N)!?

Winter: I took a leave of absence!!

As they continued bickering, they failed to notice the Grimm stopped advancing on them... in fact, they seemed to now be walking closer to the woods, sniffing curiously as they picked up a new scent... as they got closer, the Grimms' ears twitched at hearing something new as well. It was only when they heard the noise as well, only louder this time that they ceased their argument and turned their heads in the direction of the noise.

Winter: What is that?

Cinder: Why are you asking me? I'm just as lost as you are...

Before they could argue further, they were interrupted by a loud cackle... it sounded so... ominous... evil... but... it also sounded familiar.
