one

i remember when i woke up that day
it was around 5pm
the usual
it was some day in july, 1995

i sat up and wiped my eyes
then saying "shit" because i
remembered i didn't take my makeup off from last night and now my fingers were black.

i get up and pull my gray shirt back down passed my belly button
it must have rose up as i slept.
i walk out of my room looking towards the window near my front door,
the sun was mid sky,
it would be setting in about 3 hours.
i love sun sets, their beautiful

i walk into the kitchen getting a bowl for some cereal, thank god i still had some
lucky charms left, those are my favorite.

i get my cereal and head over to the only chair in my small living room.
i sit criss cross applesauce and set my bowl in my bare legs.
the coldness of the bowl makes me jump a little but i get use to it quick.

i turn on my tv and mtv was on
and the same old song was on,
"when i come around" by green day.
id heard it about 100 times
in the passed month. i loved the song i just wish something else would play tho

i wasn't sure what i was gonna do today i really wanted to get out, im always cooped up in this little house all alone. my bestfriend and really only friend that i'm still hanging out with after high school, Marie, hasn't came over since my 18th birthday, which was like a month ago.

i took the last bite of my cereal and got up tossing my bowl at the sink
and of course i missed.
the sound of the bowl hitting the floor was loud and as soon as it the ground the glass bowl shattered but it didn't bother at the moment cleaning it up.

i walked pretty fast over to the telephone by the chair i was just in
and pick it up dialing my friend, Marie's phone number.

"hello?" Marie says

"hey it's sage" i say

"oh hey!"

"are you at home?"

"not right now, but hey me and Michael we're throwing a party..-well small get together tonight and you should totally come! we haven't hung out in forever"

"i don't know marie ur party's or "small get togethers" are pretty rough"

"me and michael decided no drugs or booze or anything so it's cool"

"pinky promise"
