This one is a bit short.

Age: 15

"What do you want to be when you're older?" A voice asked from behind his desk.

He turned around and his deep blue eyes found light blue ones, filled with curiosity.

His eyebrows furrowed. "Older?"

"Yes. When you graduate from high school. Will you study, find a job, live under a bridge?" The blonde asked, a small smile appearing on her lips. His own mouth twitched at her reply, but after that he started sailing through his thoughts.

'When I'm older...'

He was a bit lost for words. Not long ago, his thoughts were focused on ruling the world. Now obviously he saw it as something that really didn't make any type of sense.

World was shitty anyways. It wasn't worth it.

But when Bubbles asked that, he couldn't help but notice how close they actually were to adulthood. Jobs, marriage maybe, kids, growing older. He'd have to find something he could live on.

Something that would make it all be worth it at the end.

He was so lost in his thoughts, he didn't hear the school bell ring for lunch, only noticing when Bubbles grazed his arm.

"Are you that lost?" She smiled at him and he grinned.

"I bet you are even more lost than me in that sense. What do you want to do when you are older?" He threw back at her and grabbed his backpack, following her out of the classroom.

She turned back at him and tilted her head.

"When you give me a reply, I'll give you one." With that she turned on her heel and ran to meet her sisters and the lunch room entrance.

Throughout all school day, he kept wondering about that one sentence that stayed in his mind for more than 3 hours.

"What do you want to be when you are older?"

He noticed he could actually smell his brain burning from overthinking. And he definitely didn't want to burn his precious mind, even if it did let him down a lot.

He decided to focus on his class and think about her question later.

Since Bubbles was 15 already, she was allowed to volunteer at an animal shelter. She spent all her afternoon's there, taking care of kittens, puppies, horses, ducklings, everything that would arrive at that shelter.

After almost being done grooming a kitten, her boss called out to her to say someone was waiting for her.

She was definitely confused. Her sisters were out doing their daily activities and the professor was passing a cold at their house.

She finished grooming the cat and walked outside to the waiting room.

"Boomer? What are you doing here?" She tilted her head at him and he huffed.

"I want to be either a mechanic or an airplane pilot... Maybe a video game designer. But I definitely want to study and become something... Not just live under a bridge." He smiled and she giggled at him.

"Those are very good choices Boomer."

"What about you? What do you want to be?"

She casted her eyes down but then looked straight at him.

"Well... If there is something that we can't be sure in this world, it's the future. Meaning we can never guarantee what we actually want. But I do know there is something that will never leave my mind or wishes."

"A fashion designer right? Or maybe a vet? Being a vet would def-"

"When I'm older, I want to be your wife." She sincerely smiled and then walked away, to finish her daily list, leaving a blushing and dumbfounded blonde on a waiting room.
